It's one thing to have an over-50 foot tall woman stampeding around downtown, and people tend to worry about her only, but when she's armored up and carrying a gun that big, it makes ya wonder what the hell she's fighting that needs a gun that big
On a completely unrelated note, I absolutely HATE drawing cities. Never been that great with backgrounds, especially ones that demand as much detail as cities do

Your work is amazing and you did an awesome job on her. The armor looks awesome and the people in the background look great too. I love how at least one person is taking pictures. You did great on those building too, especially for not being "great with backgrounds."
"The Abrams looked in awe and not a little fear at this new opponent. It had, in it's 5 years, killed many t-72s, and had once beaten three Leopards with it's partner, an up-armored Abrams that shared a little patch of the National Guard Armory's back lot with it. But this-- This was different. It's infrared signature was even and low, like those of the fleshbeasts that commanded the Abrams race. It's weapon was impressive, it's stature even more so. A spectroanalytical scan told of great armor, which would make aiming at such a hugely mobile target effectively well nigh impossible, but the M1 knew that it was the only one cut out for the job. It radioed to it's brothers, who were all still on their way to the fray, and then radioed to it's comrades, the three Bradleys on standby a couple blocks over, sending instructions not to arouse the fury or even attention of this new threat. As it slid quietly out of what it thought to be the creature's range of sight, it prayed to itself that it's brothers arrived soon."
Well, all things considered, I think the background came out rather well. It's not the focal point, and so doesn't need a great deal of detail, which keeps the focus where it should be (as if it really could be anywhere else). I think you put just enough detail into the background to give it clarity without drawing attention to itself. Speaking of detail, that's a nice suit she's got on. Simple. elegant, and functional. The perspective adds some oomph, and the lighting, as usual, looks wonderful.
I know this is a commission piece, but I gotta say I hadn't expected to see anyhting Macro out of you, as I don't think I ever have. Now, I think it'd be cool to see a continuation of this piece where she's combating whatever it is up against, as you and combat scene equals epic viewing. Not sure why the city isn't evacuated, but perhaps she's the spearhead to a rapid response team and the evacuation signal is only just now getting out. (The following is sarcastic) Or it's a really poorly planned training exercise (end sarcasm).
Also...is that woman in the lower left taking a picture of the leopard's behind? As it certainly looks like that's where the camera is pointed.

I've done a couple other macro pics, if ya look in my gallery. I gotta say, I find it a lot of fun, and I seem to be really good at it. There's a certain bit of challenge to draw a character and make it really seem huge, as opposed to just implying their size thought juxtoposition with other large things like buildings.
And that woman is my girlfriend, Cooper. she likes the ladies just as much as I do, lol

Heh, should have known there was a story behind the photographer. It's been a while since I've really looked through your gallery, so I don't remember those pics. Maybe it's about time to refresh my memory. After all, I not only watched you because you could do great art, but because you had already done a lot of great art. And galleries exist for a reason.
-Cackles- Big is an understatement on this one!
You did well on the city despite not liking to draw them, it turned out pretty well, the detail is great but not too much as to draw attention away from the main event~
On the other hand if she runs out of ammo, cars and lamp posts can come in handy. <.<

Hunt for someone else 50 foot tall, in the concrete and steel jungle playing hide and seek. The best would be if that big gun is a mega paint ball. :3 "Free building repainting on just a sec"
Awesome work, great attention to all the details, as usual. I like the design a lot of her suit, and the car on the street is also pretty cool. Yeah citys need lot of detail to and work, still I found em fun to draw. :D The hardest of them is the many window not the building it self I guess. Hmm I guess I keep the rest of my observations about the background for my self, none cares anyway.

That is awesome.
I really like how the background turned out actually, the more-solid colors and less detail as the buildings get farther away keep your attention to the subject of the pic, and its really effective at it. As usual, the detail on the subject and the lighting effects all around are top-notch and your coloring is beautiful.
Keep it up! :D

Wow, that's awesome. It almost looks like stormtrooper or clone trooper armor. Regardless, this is a fantastic picture. :)

Eeep. :(

Wow. She looks really cool and bad ass. And even armored up, she looks really sexy. And the fact that she's over 50ft tall adds another element of sexiness. What can I say, I like tall women. And seeing this further cements one thought in my head. One day, I WILL commission you!
Gracious! She's big enough to hunt down Gundams and for good measure. a few Patlabors to boot.
(By the way... In my remedial courses I had to take at Azusa High, "Jabroni" was the nickname our teacher gave the members of the class who would do spectacularly stupid things which insured either a lifetime in prison or in the Military after graduation.)

This is KICK AZZ!!!
Hmmm, names huh...
Leonia? Pronounced lEO-nEa. Once heard one person pronounce it lEon-Ia.
It's the name of a New Jersey town not too far from where I live, but it kinda sounds like a leopard lady name.
I made original names for story chatacters awhile back; I could send you some if you like.

O_O At first I was Cool... armored cheetah from the thumbnail, then when it loaded I was like O_O Sweeeeeet! But ya makes you think... what is she fighting that takes basically a fully automatic tank cannon? Kinda scarry, kinda cool kinda makes me wanna drool........... But I think that is partly heavy armor and weaponry fetish kicking in
Yeah, the background is kinda meh. It's not as bad as you make it out to be, though. Seems to me like you just maybe lost interest during the final touches like lighting, color and such; the detail comes through, but it looks paradoxically drab and unfinished, I dunno. Maybe it's just your usual flair for bloom and color that makes it more noticable. Some tweaks here and there might bring it out more without seeming too busy or distracting from the subject.
The question really at the front of my mind is; Who's manufacturing that giant armor and guns and shit? The same people who work on mechas? Are there macro mechs? Are they like Zanbani? Are there garantuan macro-run factories and corporations churning it all out? FMBM? Macro Marketing? Macro PR? Macro Shopping Networks? The mind boggles with possibilities. @-@

I know this is just nitpicking, but why isn't she wearing some kind of helmet/neckguard?
Is she more afraid of getting shot in the thigh or arm than in the face or something?
And considering her size, shouldn't armoured boots be a high priority? Aside of the high number of adversaries who are quite possibly only capable of reaching her ankles (literally) shouldn't she have some kind of protection for the soles of her feet, so stepping on cars/lampposts/road signs/anything else metallic on the roads doesn't become like instant caltrops whenever she moves around an environment where such things are scattered everywhere?

Hmm...I have to wonder what she'd need a gun that massive for, as well, and what she's doing in a normal-sized city with it. Clearly not of this world, or at least this time period. But whatever it is she's hunting--or whatever is hunting her--I'm sure we'd all find out what it is in a few moments based on her facial expression. Excellently done. Didn't even need a description to determine what's going on in the scene, and that's the best kind of art, I figure.
YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL
Or at least to me, anyway.

Aww, the city scape ain't that bad. But you're right, it doesn't stop you from hating the job.
When I hit the thumbnail, I wasn't expecting her worried expression - so that changed the tone of the artwork for me. Went from confident to anxious. It was interesting.
And I do like the piece more for it, just because it wasn't completely what I expected.
*grins* Gawd I love the fitted armor. Just keep it coming yeah?
Love the fine details that went into the plating for her biceps and stomach area. Ditto again for the grooves on her shin guards.
The only thing that didn't make sense for me was her hair. Loved the style of it, but for someone suited and geared up for something potentially dangerous - why have her hair flying into her field of vision?
~shrugs~ Then again... artistic license. I'll go stick my head up a hole that cares and leave that alone then.
Looks wonderful. Thanks for the post!
