The two lovers stroll through the garden, their paths lit brightly by the silvery light of the moon and the flickering glow of the paper lanterns. The night is peaceful, warm, quiet. As Syria turns to admire her handsome warrior, three hitodama appear -- swirling playfully around the couple, lighting them with their gentle, eerie glow. Syria laughs, holding out her hand to encourage the trickster spirits closer...

This is absolutely beautiful...

The amount of detail you put into her dress is staggering, it looks real. Great job with ambient and global lighting, everything has that 'glow' it's supposed to have.

The only thing that stands out to me is the sword, just seems awkward for some reason.

Yes, I am feeling a little embarrassed about the sword. To be honest, I'm not sure how I missed it -- I didn't notice anything amiss until I began receiving so many comments noting how it looked a bit off. In any case, thanks for pointing it out. I really do appreciate receiving critique on my work!

This reminds me of a lot of the Wii game Muramasa: The Demon Blade, which is to say it looks absolutely gorgeous just like the game did.

The lanterns and her outfit looks amazing but I think my favorite part are those big ears she's got. Very well done overall.

I think the thing I like the most is the little swirly bits of mist. The didn;t draw my eye immediately, but I was brought to them as I explored the picture.

amazing job on this one! I love the atmosphere and the lighting. Those lanterns came out so neat! I like how it's mostly cool colors and then the lanterns really pop out with that red dress and lead your eyes around the picture.
