Whew... I've spent a lot of the weekend putting together what you see here. I bought a pair of slip-on shoes from goodwill, and some 3-inch thick foam from JoAnn's. Using the examples found on http://www.matrices.net , I cut and glued foam to the shoes to form some foot paws.

You can see here the various stages of development. The left foot paw has the foam base on the front, cut into the shapes I wanted for the toes. The right one is covered with duct tape (which will be cut off later and used for a pattern to cut the material). The rear of the left one has had material applied to it.

Since my character is a dragon and not 'furry' per se, I'm not using a furry material, but instead using the same green felt-like material that I used to make my tail.

I've discovered that putting material onto foam is not all that difficult, but putting seams together IS difficult. For most fursuits, a little mistake on a seam is fairly easily covered up by the fur. However, with this material, every seam is pretty clearly visible, so I can't afford to make huge mistakes. That's one reason why it's going slowly--I'm trying to be very careful.

I'm excited to have gotten this far, though!
