Despite the plane itself existing in project wingman, she exists outside of that world.
She was made as part of an international project between the United States, Japan and Germany to make what is essentially a super advanced aeromorph. She was made using advanced and experimental technologies, such as flight engines fueled by cordium. When she was first unveiled, people were shocked at how insanely maneuverable she is, able to pull of maneuvers most fighters can't even pull off to begin with. Only the most advanced pilots would be selected to be her pilot, as it's potentially dangerous for inexperienced pilot to fly in her. Incase there is no pilot she can obviously fly on her own without any aid, as she is sentient and sapient. Her personality is described as very determined and has very strong leadership skills.

Armaments: two 40mm cannons in her nose, burst missile launchers on her body, multi purpose missiles under her shoulder engines, and a railgun she carries around

Loving how this Aero is designed, having a Mecha aesthetic just works so well. Honestly the moment I saw this image, I immediately started hearing this specific song in my head and those legs certainly didn't help. XD
As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the game itself, I've always wondered if someone enjoyed it enough too to make an aeromorph out of any of the experimental craft - and it seems like my question has been answered! She's absolutely gorgeous, I love the integration of the Burst Missile Launcher all across her body, and the fact that the railgun is just... A gun to carry around :P
