Anubis, Ancient Egyptian god of embalming...and power metal!
^.^
The music is Steve Vai - The Final Guitar Solo. It was used in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey for the ending scene. The Track was used as an intro for the last song by Kiss.
Anubis is awesome and I'm tired and amazed i got this done in under 1 night
Enjoy,
Crowchild
NOTE: This was done in only a few hours so I know there are anatomy screw ups. I am also not a guitar player so the fingers are all wonky.

Let's see here...I suppose since this is a test animation, I'll left the obvious errors slide. A few more things that would have made for a more fluid and realistic animation would be some knee/leg motions along with the guitar playing. The picking was very well synced for a test animation, although the fret-work needs a lot of improvement. How Anubis handled the guitar was very nice as well. Nice choice too: Jackson V ^_^ My favorite.
As for the song, I'm not a huge fan of Stevie Vai. I'll take Marty Friedman or Jason Becker over him any day of the year.
PS: I play stuff like this, so I could help you with the fret-syncing if you'd like.

Yeah this was done pretty quick and dirty, errors come in the double digits but i think it came out ok for now.
Also, yeah! If you could send me some kind of reference that would be great! Honestly, the fact that I don't have a clue about the fingering is driving me nuts. Thanks.
You know, after looking it over, I just noticed how impressive your animation skills are! You animate so little in the piece, but you combine them all together and the character appears lifelike! Very impressive talent! :) Of course, this goes for ALL of your animations, not just this one.
That was excellent Crowchild! I was thinking about B&T and that song quite often last night and I find this to be most tranquil. I always thought that Anubis should be showcased with an AX and you did a marvelous job with the knowledge you have. If you ever need aid with Egyptian writing, let me know.
ROFL!! I have that guitar!! wewtz for the flying V!!!! *ahem, regains composure* great animation and song selection dude. apart from the finger thing, there was one timing blip I picked up, but other than that, it was great. Anyways, ROCK ON!! *headbangs

iTunes carries the song:
Artist: Steve Vai
Album: Elusive Light and Sound, Vol. 1
Song: Final Guitar Solo
NOTE: Only part of the CD is worth it. Some of the tracks are only a few seconds long. Although they are cool they are not really worth the full price. However many of he songs are. Probably a good idea to look at the time when going on a track by track basis.
However, most anything from Vai is amazing.
