I'm beginning to sense a pattern in the creative people I know of...

Synesthesia tends to occur more in people in creative fields than in the rest of the population.

I'm surprised how many people have a form of synesthesia or recently realized they do since Scurrow posted his journal! It can't be a coincidence that so many creative types have some form of this :o

I knew about synesthesia, but only in its most extreme form, where people taste colors, see odors and hear flavors, etc. all at once. I didn't know there were variations with less extreme or more specific symptoms.

With all these wires crossed in our heads, more creativity is bound to result!

I thought I had synesthesia for the longest but it just turned out to be "visual snow". Breathing walls and flashing patterns in cheap carpet designs.

I see musical keys as colors. Warm colors for sharp keys, cooler colors for flat keys, and yellow for C major (no flats or sharps).

Color number synesthesia over here. Neurological anomalies represent!

yeah uh

sound ---> movement/shapes or something and possibly color too
sound ---> taste
visual ---> sound but not very noticeable (like if I heard a truck backing up very far away too far to hear anything but I'm like what's that little buzzing sound when the lights flash on and off)

I have colour association with numbers. (i.e. 3's are red, 7's yellow, 8's dark greyish blue).

Most music has a colour too it, but there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.

Also, I agree that September seems to be the most important month of the year. I still go out and buy sticky notes and pencils. There is this big feeling that this time around, everything will be perfectly organized and efficient.

I've been sitting on that journal idea for so long, i'm so glad it got the reception it did! I should have known there would be a bunch of furries with synesthesia, it seems like every weird thing i have, a furry somewhere has the same thing. Maybe I'll draw something related to the whole thing as well.

The feel of your oval shaped calender really makes sense though. Sept-Dec do seem bigger than the other months, it's hard to explain why. The others sort of mush together.

Months are also different colors for me, for example
September - blue
August - Red
October - Yellow
November - Orange

I think this might be due to some early calenders i've seen in elementary school, or the letters they start with being colors. It's all very strange. God this is cute! This whole picture tickles my ears!!

Hmm, ever since playing Snakes and Ladders, I've visualised years in that same pattern, only the nineties were at the top of the board so a new one has to start above it for the new millennium. And I see the seasons as a clockface (where the left side is only the last four months of the year). Nice to know it's not must me, but I've always understood synesthesia differently. We did an animation with the theme of synesthesia and we understood it as a form of hallucination. Now I'm confused.

I've got several forms myself. I was always embarassed. One of the ones I have involves assigning inanimate objects with personalities. So now my boyfriend will be like, "Touch this tree, what does it think/say/feel?" lol

I'm jealous of all you synesthetes. I wonder if one can give himself synesthesia if he tries hard enough. I want to see Zorori whenever I think about eating toast.

That's pretty neat, I'd heard of the "seeing sounds" but never thought about other sorts of visualization. I'll have to give that journal a read.

I didn't know this counted as synesthesia! Interesting to know. My years look like lines of little day-rectangles, that curve and connect to the next one at the new year. There are places where the year-line sort of dips up and down for different months with somewhere in december being the lowest, and it goes sharply up at the end to attach to the next january and I never realized how completely nutty this sounds to describe. Huh.
