Aevaa Starwing
Gender: Female
Age: 20 years old (The lifespan of dragons are tenfold that of humans)
Species: Astral Dragon
Homeworld: Mylos
Bio:
Aevaa Starwing was born a member of a rare draconic species, one that can harness the power of the astral energy and is able to phase themselves and others into the "Astral Plane": a sort of “mirror world” parallel to the real world, where spirits of those who passed long ago reside.
The young astral dragon was raised and taught by the Order of Iros'Siaxa, named after the goddess who said to have birthed the astral dragons in the beginning of time. Throughout, she was considered a prodigy within the order, exceeding expectations and was considered a candidate as a future High Priestess.
However, things took a turn for the worst for Aevaa, as she was suddenly captured by space pirates seemingly for no legitimate reason. Luckily though, the Order was quick to hire APEX to commence a rescue mission for the astral dragon. She wasn't aware of it at the time, but a small spark ignited within her when she once laid eyes on her rescuer, Ignis Draco. Upon reading his rather unusual aura, she slowly but surely grew interest in him.
Now that Aevaa had been rescued from the clutches of the space pirates, you'd think she'd return to her normal life as an Astral Priestess, right? Not exactly.
Ignis and his crew did a bit of digging within the order, and for the most part, everything seemed to check out. No malicious intent whatsoever, no dark cultic secrets like sacrifices and rituals. The Order seemed legitimate. Looking up on the pirates, they noted that they were surprisingly well equipped to deal with an astral priestess, especially an Astral Dragon. Keep in mind, there's not a lot of them roaming around. That was when they discovered something damning. As it turned out, a member of the Order, a fellow student and friend of Aevaa's had contacted the pirates and fed them information on Aevaa and her whereabouts. This "friend", who's name isn't even worth mentioning, had grown a strong animosity towards Aevaa, simply because of her being an Astral Dragon.
Yes. Really.
This "friend" sold out Aevaa to space pirates, all because she was able to do astral magic better than her "friend" could; the thing she was SUPPOSED to do.
What makes it even worse is that this "friend" was the daughter of one of the current high priests, and only a select few were informed about what was really going on...and did nothing. They planned to keep things quiet and pretend that this was all purely coincidence.
In the end, those who planned to keep things a secret were banished from the Order. But despite all that, Aevaa felt absolutely betrayed. Though it was only a small handful of priests who were fully aware of what was going on, some of those same priests were the same ones who raised and taught her, and this was all thanks to someone who she thought she could trust dearly.
Because of all this, she didn't feel like staying within the Order any longer. She chose to join APEX, despite both parties disagreeing at first. She didn't want a repeat of what happened to her; despite her abilities, she felt absolutely helpless. She wants to become a better combatant and ensure no one else has to suffer what she had gone through.
Impressed by her commitment to become a better combatant, Ignis eventually recruited her into APEX, and the Order wished her farewell. Throughout her time, she and Ignis grew closer and ultimately became a couple.
Of course, nobody said that being a mercenary is gonna be clean and simple, and Aevaa learned this the hard way.

Yes, our girl Aevaa is back! Much like with Ignis, I've given her a full portrait with a few tweaks to her design, notably her boots and her long sleeve shirt.
I'm in a bit of a Harbingers mood lately so expect more related stuff soon!
Or not, who knows?
