The closest comparison I can personally recall is "Gravity Falls" when Dipper discovers he can "clone" himself by a photocopy machine. He and Mabel discover that fluids of any sort act like a hyper acid melting the seemingly sapient copies into a sludge. After some misadventures with a group of Dipper clones all wanting to vie for the attentions of Wendy, the real Dipper trips the fire sprinkler system and they all (but one) melt (maybe not in agony, but certainly in frustration missing their chances to woo Wendy). The one copy left was the first and the nicest. He and the real Dipper make amends and make a toast, both downing some canned soda... "Dipper 2" realizes his fatal mistake as the fluid start to dissolve him from the inside out. He imparts some words of wisdom to the real Dipper as the last vestiges of his face spreads into a puddle of diluted ink(?).
...Okay, I already knew the clones were going to leave at some point, but what I didn't know was that they were going to leave with a bang, so to speak, which could be considered kind of... horrifying, in a way, and also funny. And lastly, while I like everyone's expression here, I must say that my favorite is that of the Darnell in the fifth panel on the bottom left (left to right, top to bottom); the expression he has is simply priceless. XD
