Trying this new style of image sequence. It provide much more story than a single image, perfect for this occassion. I might do this sequence again if i want to fit more story into one picture.
It seems like an eternity in this muck, and her time is running short. Ava eventually hears someone coming out of the adjacent bushes. Minp, her hero, not only survived drowning to death and kissed his saviour, but also had time to return, get a high-tensile rope, and throw it to his sinking partner.
The bog seems to draw her in, with no sign of stopping anytime soon. She will usually stop sinking at her ribcage. She can't help but notice the damp dirt covering half of her breast in this one. Staying motionless would be just as horrible as struggling. She had already reached her current depth since her first fall in less than 10 minutes. Perhaps the ground beneath her is collapsing, allowing air pockets to rise to the surface and create a number of bubbles. She pondered. But she should keep that thought until later, when she is on solid ground.
Even Minp is not on safe ground, as he also has to step into the danger zone in order for the rope to reach her. At first, the ground held his lightweight body well. However, as they both start pulling, the mire gives away and quickly swallows his lower legs because if one goes up, the other goes down. That's how it works.
To save Minp's valuable height, Ava must first extract herself in order to break the suction that holds her in. Wiggling appears to work, although it will take a little while. Pulling her would be simple once she was free of the suction, since she could just glide on the mud surface.
That is their current plan, and regrettably, they do not have a backup plan in case things go wrong...

Here’s an idea I have that can serve the best of both worlds: Minp and Ava eventually free themselves from the muck, but not before they both are plunged in and caked fully in mud. It’d be like that scene in The Land Before Time where Little Foot and his friends are covered in tar.
With Ava so deeply mired, self-rescue is about the only way she's going to get out. Unfortunately, as mentioned, Minp is on very unstable ground...which is a ton of trouble for both of them. As it is, he may not be able to struggle free anymore, so it's all up to her...or else they're both in a ton of trouble.
What a fantastic way to do this image sequence, BTW. I really hope you use it again to tell other stories, either with these characters, or in future commissions. It's a great idea and it really shows your artistic talents!
