Speaking of Vigil's mom, here she is! Honor Nightwarden, Countess Palatine of the city-state of Ithikos and ruler of its surrounding lands and towns, Paladin of the Crown in service to Bahamut. A no-nonsense, tough, but not unkind woman, Honor was the daughter of the black sheep of her side of the tiefling Nightwarden family and a human blacksmith. In her early years, she served as a paladin adventuring out in the world, a knight errant bringing justice to evildoers. However, when she returned home and saw how her uncle was ruling Ithikos, she suffered a crisis of faith, eventually changing her oaths after a long period of meditation and leading a coup to arrest him, taking over the city and helping to repair the damage he had done with his spending and unjust policies. Still, she continued fighting directly to defend her city and its people even after she had her children, until an encounter with a monster injured her left shoulder, leaving her unable to raise her arm properly, at which point she formally retired from the field.
