(sorry about the pic, my camera died and I had to use my phone, ALSO There are linked photo instructions threw out this recipe, if you have a problem looking at raw meat then don't click them)
here's another "I'm too tired to actually cook" recipe/instruction. I don't really call this a recipe because you really don't need to measure anything, your basically just throwing a bunch of stuff in a pot and letting it cook all day.
if your going to cook this for your dinner, Id get it all started at about noon or earlier. The longer it has to cook the better.
What you will need (roughly)
Picture of ingredients
Beef top round roast (at least that's what I'm using here)
3 potatoes
carrots
32 oz beef broth
seasoning (basil)
vegetable oil
Frying pan
Slow cooker
(if you don't have one, you NEED one there relatively affordable, easy to use and my best friend)
Instructions:
get your meat at about room temp, it relaxes it and brings out flavor before you cook it.
Next I cut the piece in half, makes it easier to work with and cut up later. Then I cut shallow strips into both sides, and rub seasoning into it, I'm using basil here because its a personal favorite. i season both sides.

Let it sit while you heat up a bit of vegetable oil in a frying pan (make sure its HOT!) you need to sear the meat. once its hot set a chunk of meat in the pan for a just under a minute for the top and the bottom each. repeat with the second piece. once all the meat is seared dump the beef broth into the slow cooker and add the meat.
Scrub and cut up your potatoes in big chunks and carrots and add them to the slow cooker. (i use baby carrots just because they also work and im lazy sometimes)

Important comment about flavors
you can pretty much add whatever you want, just keep in mind things like celery are VERY strong and you dont need a lot, if you add too much, everything is going to taste like celery. Iv made this mistake! I'm also not a fan of onions but you can add those also if you like them.
Once everything is in the cooker this is the most important step.. FORGET about it!
(and try to ignore that delicious smell)
let the cooker do its thing check back in a few hours to see how the meat and veggies are doing. when the meat starts to fall apart or is at least easy to pull apart with a fork, its perfect!
Enjoy!
I usually eat mine by pulling off chunks and adding that with some broth and carrots in a bowl, with some kinda bread and butter and maybe a cold beer. :p
