A mysterious new website that claims to let users transform themselves and inhabit any alternate reality of their choosing is sweeping the web. Pierce isn't sure he believes what people are saying about it - but with how fanatically excited his friends are about their impossible-sounding experiences, he figures he may as well give it a shot.
But powerful tools demand great care. And Pierce, as it turns out, may not have read the instructions closely enough to get anything less than precisely what he wants...
8k words! I really liked the concept behind this one, and had to put it to paper. The way things get to the transformation might be a little contrived, but I'm overall very happy with how this story came out. Thank you for reading - I'd love to hear what you think if you enjoy the story!

I'm probably missing the point in what led to me writing this comment to find some hope, but I find myself asking some questions related to 'how can he get out of this?'. Mainly, does the command have to be vocal? And if so, (and if I'm not completely misunderstanding what I do know about combat fighters and stuff), does a radio count as 'vocal'?
Well besides those queries, this was a pretty fun double-TF to read through. Alongside an interesting trigger, a new website that's widely known. With a whole lot of warnings too, which was neat to see. And I am fond of mechanical, vehicular, changes too. So it was pretty nice to see such a change in this tale.

Hmm. The command definitely has to be voiced - otherwise he would have been able to stop things mid-transformation - and if an Arwing does have some kind of voice synthesis and the mechanism to transmit it over radio, then that would definitely count as inputting the escape command. (Though I'm not convinced Arwings necessarily can do that; it doesn't come up in the games, at least.) The issue is more that I don't see him sending that command by the end. Even if he had figured out how to, it's not part of the ship's intended purpose, so I don't believe he has the desire or willpower to make himself malfunction in order to escape.
I don't think the ship will go back to what it was. But it might not be impossible for it to.

Better than nothing at the least, and I personally believe that they can. If only to inform the pilot to eject from the fighter, like as an automated message in case of emergencies, but since we haven't seen that in the series (to my knowledge), it is possible that such functionality doesn't exist for Arwings.
I personally hope that... Nah. Hope is irrelevant in this circumstance. But I can at least see that if things do awry, and my assumption that an Arwing pilot can eject and an Arwing can send out automated messages, then it might merely be a good; maybe long, maybe short; while until it goes back. But even if that doesn't happen, the possibility is there.
And that's better than nothing.
