Dialogue comes in aces and spades later, but for the most part the beginning lacks dialogue because Dice refuses to consort with the test subjects as equals and Nine is a pouty bastard who reacts to this patronization by giving him the (very mature) silent treatment lol! I'm glad people enjoy it despite this lack of dialogue. I honestly love comics with expressions conveying words without the words quite a bit.
It's not furry or porny but honestly, I'm ASTOUNDED by the amount of faves and comments it has gotten! Completely unexpected considering the content and the audience.
I want to redraw some bits of the second panel still. Those muscles are difficult and I couldn't find an image with the pose I had in mind so I kinda had to... interpolate my own knowledge and what reference I did have and BLAH

Something I've been wondering about Dice since the first time I saw him give Nine medication....
If Dice is colorblind, how the heck does he tell the differences between the syringes and what's in them? I mean, I'm sure it doesn't matter, as long as they're going into Nine, but...yeah. Curiosity. :3

Excellent question, Demi and I talked about this a lot (Dice's colorblindness causes lots of logistical issues, lol). Dice has no idea what color the syringes are, he has to memorize where he puts each one on the tray as he's filling them (he knows what they are when he's filling the syringes because the drug vials have labels on them). Sometimes he has to ask Aras which is which if they roll around on the tray or get mixed up somehow.
Same reason I don't put labels on my syringes at work: It takes way too long to label 20 syringes. Atropine and ringers solution and lidocaine are all clear liquids needed during neurosurgery, so I can't tell them apart, just like Dice. My system is just 'R is for Ringers on the Right, L is for Lidocaine on the Left'. Atropine just goes in the middle.
