Dan sure knows Karma pretty well, when he has an idea in mind AND some people are in danger...he won't change his mind. But in a tournament like that a person is more than welcome...don't worry, SOMEONE YOU LOVED might show up too. 

Just wish enough for it to happen. hehe. 

The changes in Karma behavior and body are on purpose by the way to fit the situation. In general, Karma might be muscular but there is a difference between muscles in a relax and in a tensed up situation. In some people it can even make some blood vessels show up on the body. 

Since Karma is joining a MMA tournament kind to save a LGBTQIA+ center than some jerks want to demolish, I think it's normal that he has more than one reason to have his body tensed up compared to usual. Alongside the fact that he should have done some stretching too before...but that's the SPECIAL EDITION STUFF. -chuckle-

To add onto that Dan is stressed up, mostly for Karma's health, which is normal if it's someone you care about, don't you think? So when he sees Karma's body and muscles differences compared to usual, you can say that his reaction is more than normal, even if he has seen Karma naked more than once before. 

Yeah, I might or not, bored you all with some extra details on this page but I wanted to explain the reasoning in it's creation to show the difference with the other 2 comics from before.
