Sammy and Liam Chapter 1/?
A big salamander gal, even when compared to other macros, and Just a Man (go listen to that song) with more wits than sense take a chance on each other!
Here's something I've never posted before, some SFW slice of life stuff! Relationship focused with some worldbuilding here and there to hopefully spark some ideas in other folks. Definitely partially inspired by the UTO setting, it's what first got me into posting my stories after all!
I started writing this story pretty recently, about two months ago. And with some critique from
Hetzer, I've got the first chapter done as best as I can, easily my most refined work to date! Not sure how many chapters there'll be, only time and interest will tell. Not quite in time for Valentine's Day, but really close to it. : P

Great stuff! The slice-of-life macro/micro stuff is my favorite, precisely because of how relatively “ordinary” and “real” it makes this sort of world seem. Giant amphibians are a rarity—and Sammy seems like a giant even among the giants—so that caught my eye too.
The waitress pinching Liam’s bowls and glasses between her claw tips was a fun touch—give that woman a nice tip!—though I feel like hiring micro wait staff would be a good idea to consider at some point. Then they could be carried on the macro trays but handle the micro-scaled dishes. Maybe that has started happening in the South, where there seems to be more mixing of sizes at this point. It kind of surprised me to hear that places in the boonies—or what used to be the boonies—are more integrated than the cities.
The fact that this is partly UTO inspired makes me wonder if “micro” and “human” are effectively one and the same. We don’t really see many people the same size as Liam, and those that are—like the ones in harnesses on their friend’s shoulders in the restaurant—are not identified by species. The receptionist/host at the restaurant is identified as a “macro rabbit fella,” so I don’t know if that implies that there are micro rabbit fellas too, or if “macro rabbit” is sort of redundant in this setting.
Anyway, I’m definitely interested to see more!

It's been a loooong time since I've thought deep on the worldbuilding side of things up until this story. There are so many little details and nods here and there to think about. And even more that my readers notice before I do. : P That idea of macro and micro serving duos is a good one! And there are non-human micros, I'm just a goof and didn't realize there was no firm showing of that so far.
And thank you! I definitely plan on doing more relationship-focused stuff! Most likely with these two and my other recent pair, Selane and Matt!

Damn, I love seeing functional mixed-size societies! Best of all, there's so many ways this concept could work out that I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of surprises your world has in store.
