Adressa works often with demons and devils, as the first patron she had was one. She knows any offerings given often come with a hidden price. Thaldel, however, has her own ambitions to move from her station in the underworlds as a mere servant. While this gift and promise of loyalty may be genuine in the moment, both know full well the other do not trust it to last. Who is to say that the last soul necessary for Thaldel to ascend to a higher form of demonhood won't be Adressa's?
