I've always been of the same opinion... I've even read a manga based off a TV series where not all demons are bad, & actually PROTECT humanity instead.
Plus, with Shin Megami Tensei being thrown into the whole tin can of "The War of Good & Bad Angels & Demons", it's a pretty stark contrast to see that there's even a shred of humanity left in demons as well, which is good for story-narratives btw. :3
I've always enjoyed a good contrast between what we see as "good and evil" not really being as black & white as we make it out to be, hence why other religions tend to villainize this sorts of things as well. I've always been more on the opinion of "Take what religions you can, & if you don't like it, don't follow it" type of guy, being respectful of those religions, but also realizing those stark contrasts between the 2 as well, which sorta makes me like the whole dichotomy between the 2 in the first place. w
