Some days fade into a blur, lost to the simple, steady passage of time.
And then there are days like this one—days that are burned into our memory, bathed in gold.
As Nevo can still feel the warmth of the sun-baked concrete through his beans and the surprising cold of the cheap aluminum can in his hand.
The soda was probably too sweet, tasting of artificial flavors and sugar, but in that moment, it was the most refreshing thing in the world.
The whole afternoon had been lazy and perfect, the kind where you don't do much of anything but end up with the best stories.
