Here is a tool that I have made probably a few times now, but a lot of them weren't so good when it came to the attempt I had made.
This one shows a lot more potential than all of the rest and I've made it from a cheap and decent quality source of material. A hammer I found on amazon was about 16 dollars and was a totally rectangular one at that. The faces were square and it made it very easy to forge out into a different tool.
This tool, is referred to as a hot cut chisel and it has a narrow blade for for making deep slices into hot steel and iron. There is a cold cut variety, but it has a much more broad chisel edge with a regular 60 degree angle.
This tool is meant to be struck with a hammer swung by another smith. Mine is on the smaller end and won't be used for such large work, so I can strike it with my own hand hammer instead.

Hmm a hammer ised as base, so probablöy something like C45/1045 steel or comparable. Maybe looking for a specific steel, which is ment to use on warm steel. I don't know the is therminology for such steels, but i can recomand 1.2767, 1.4340 and 1.2344 steel for that purpose. But those are a pain to forge for obvious reasons XD
This has held up very well for hot work. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/62443809/ Paired with this thing I made it'll be fine and serve me for a long time.
