A Diplomatic Tea (by DocFurPanic) - Second Raffle Prize
It often happens that following the meetings he holds with ambassadors from distant lands, the prince of Valmeridia manages
to forge alliances with other kingdoms, not only gaining trusted allies but also raising awareness of his princedom and thus increasing its prestige.
After the meeting with Lady Henrietta of the Kingdom of Monsters, everything seemed ready for the agreement to be sealed.
Unfortunately, however, due to tensions within the kingdom, the sovereign was forced to send someone else for the task.
And so, with a brisk but elegant step, an ambassador of a completely different caliber than the previous one arrives.
A trusted warrior, as her bearing suggests, walks through the gates of castle della Verbena that day.
It is Baroness Miri, a roobit who from the very beginning seems more interested in the castle itself and how its defenses are managed than in speaking directly with the prince.
After all, Lady Henrietta having already discussed matters extensively with Borgon in the past, doing so again might have been superfluous.
And so, the dragon entrusts the matter to his trusted factotum.
Giving her a solemn bow and motioning for her to follow, the lady of the castle then leads the baroness into
a rather large room, with big windows and a pleasant crackling fire inside an ancient but exquisitely crafted fireplace.
The two sit at the table, and herbal teas and snacks are served to make the meeting more pleasant.
Silva hopes those sweets will also soften her interlocutor, especially when she has to explain that the defenses
of the crumbling manor are largely the responsibility of the local community and the castle's inhabitants.
And that in the event of a serious attack, Valmeridia doesn't actually have a regular army.
Yes, Silva will need the sweetest and most captivating words to ensure everything goes smoothly during that diplomatic tea...____________________________
