He knows what he is doing and he is hoping she doesn't ask for things like that but it's not about the wipes. They are a couple of steps away. She could easily get them. What she is asking, is if he will help and support her. She wants to know if he is engaged in the relationship or if she is just a mommy/ maid. She is looking for reassurance that she is not alone in taking care of the house and family.
Interesting take, but in my personal experience in dealing with that kind of behavior, it's usually a power-play. She sees that he's trying to relax, likely after working all day/week and so she has to do something to make him get up, just for a moment, only to quickly do it herself or invalidate the request after he gives up his moment of comfort. She never wanted him to give her the wipes, she just wanted to disturb his comfort because he found a moment to try and relax and she resents him for it.
