Long time ago Liony planned to be in cosplay as a Freeman, but from my originall idea everything should be in HL1 times, because he should be surrended to Mac (in HECU cosplay) and Nancy (CIA agent in latex), but that was more complicated scene. One strange feeling came to me on Highway 17 map, where i image Liony standing in front of that hole in one seaside building.
Probably that was the main reason, why i drew him in that background and setting.
It was took some time because this one i drew on fresh new windows with restored settings from zero (not fully as i found from results, but that "test" was worth it)
Artwork and character "Liony" belongs to me.
There's interloper behind him!

This is potentially a very interesting take on both concept and character. I could be mistaken, but the sense I have always gotten from Liony is that, for the most part, he is very unsure of himself, low self-esteem, insecure... when he seems otherwise, it is more false bravado than actual courage.
If this is correct, then what you get is not so much the stern, resolute scientist who's just doing his dang job, but someone constantly anxious, frightened, panicking, clearly so far out of their depth that they may possibly be out of their mind, and potentially blaming themselves for every failure they've seen.
Simply put, this Gordon Freeman has a lot more in common with Haida from "Aggretsuko", or Rocko from "Rocko's Modern Life" (a late-1990s cartoon show about a dog who often got into the most insane and crazy situations, often from simple, sheer bad luck, and who often made things much worse before resolving things) than the quiet, determined crowbar-basher we know so well in the games.

Liony in early conception was a insure in himself and his path (if we speak 2017-19th years) but after re-desing and fixing him in one "Main Universe" he's become a very self-confident character, technically with setting up his path. He's still must be even smarter than Gordon Freeman, he practically a small genius.
Yet t i found that making him in one emotion will stuck him in "frame", so i just complete one old concept, but with updates (from original scene) emotion, to despair feeling.
Just with the same weird feelings what causes to me that spot from the game.
