Backstory (with parts redacted to avoid spoilers, expect it to get un-redacted slowly):
Lizz hatched in the misty marshes of Lucellia, an autonomous island territory of Stellae, known for its warrior culture and ruthless ambition. [REDACTED] This child was Lizz.
Raised by [REDACTED] and shunned by his kin, Lizz always seemed different. His vibrant, faintly glittery scales shimmered under moonlight. He gazed at the stars when others trained for the hunt. He questioned, learned, and wondered. [REDACTED] Lucellia’s warriors valued strength, not thought.
[REDACTED]
Lizz was ostracized. He lived alone near the coast, [REDACTED] Lizz, however, believed [REDACTED]
Years passed.
[REDACTED] the Council of Knowledge. They saw something in Lizz, something unrefined but extraordinary. After he guided them back to sea using his maps and intuition, they invited him to join them.
Lizz accepted.
During his time as a council member, he mostly lived as an exchange student in the city of Lex in Stellae, only occasionally needing to [REDACTED]. He also spent a lot of time taking part in the council’s expeditions, where he delighted in working on his cartography. Despite his role in the council, he was treated as a curiosity, a Lizardfolk with [REDACTED] and brilliant magical instincts. He studied faster than most and even traveled on expeditions as both mage and mapmaker.
While in the council, Lizz would meet and eventually become somewhat friends with Bethica Kate, the sharp-tongued Tabaxi with a valley girl accent. Their friendship was a mix of sarcastic banter, gossip, and unexpected loyalty. She was also a theater kid who religiously listened to Flancine’s music. Bethica loved to throw shade, making jokes at Lizz’s expense, but beneath the snark, she admired his smarts and fierce curiosity. For Lizz, Bethica was a complicated yet welcome presence, part annoyance, part anchor, and together they formed a strange yet effective team navigating the politics and secrets of the Council. Lizz also got most of his unique taste in fashion from Bethica.
But even in the council, he felt the sting of judgment: whispers of “unnatural,” “too powerful,” and “outlander.” The more he learned, the more he questioned the Council’s hoarding of knowledge, their hypocrisy, and their fear of transparency.
Eventually, Lizz left the Council, disillusioned but unchanged in purpose. He remains loosely affiliated, respected, but no longer loyal. And after he left, he for the most part lost touch with Bethica.
Now, Lizz wanders Admiraluxuria, carrying paper, ink, and [REDACTED]. He calls his life’s work The Atlas of the Lost, a cartographic magnum opus chronicling forgotten ruins, divine echoes, and the secrets hidden between the folds of civilization. [REDACTED]
