"...to be chosen, one must be without fear..."
And then my mind immediately think of my own Character, Jai-Kla, the fearless weretiger.
He's not fearless because he wanted to be, but because he has congenital brain defect at some part of the Amygdala, the fear center.
So, he's literally fearless. That makes me think that my weretiger is more suited to the Green Lantern position of Earth more than that wimpy looking human.
Also, Paralax won't be able to harm him at all. He has no fear to absorb.

And yes, this boy makes a lot of idiotic decisions in his life time. Got hurt pretty bad many times. He has developed his way of avoiding danger by trail and error and logic thinking later when he's more grown up.
