indeed...sadly fallout tactics was declared non canon by the time of fallout 3...which is a shame

with how each new entry contradicts half of previous games i made headcanon that every fallout game is actually just few wastelanders around campfire telling each other stories, and every plothole can be explained with people misremembering/making shit up

some things do slot together...in fallout tactics, chicago is clearly shown being entered by midwest brotherhood forces in the intro...but fallout new vegas confirmed via ED-E that there is a major enclave presence in the city (via the fact it was headed for that location, also confirmed in fallout 3 via a terminal entry of a deserter that says chicago is home to a major command center...I think can be found in one of the houses in the firebreathing ant mission location), probably comparable to any of their major facilities throughout the franchise if not larger. That sadly does tick that tactics may not be canon, at least not completely

Personally I like to imagine that the midwest and chicago enclave are stuck in some sort of cold war post-tactics. The enclaves too entrenched even for the midwest brotherhood to crack but the brotherhood has too many allies post-tactics for the enclave to act either.

How I have feel about Bethesda has made me not care much about canon. The thing I liked also about the hairy deathclaws was not only human intelligence but were known to adopt human children and raise them as their own creating tribes of humans and deathclaws.

interesting...sadly tactics tended to kick my ass as I never got past the opening mission xD so I never got to see that
