celebrates his birthday today. So what better way to celebrate than honor one of his greatest legacies :3What is now the Winnipeg jets was formerly the Atlanta Thrashers. Subject to all kinds of scrutiny by people who's teams have been around for years and years and years. The Thrashers, though some would deny it, were number one in the league a number of times, and I got to watch first hand them shut out multiple Stlanley Cup champions and even take my beloved Red Wings down. A lot of these teams have a good number of fans and it's easy to be a fan of a winning team. But part of being a good fan is even being a fan when things aren't working out, and while they are figuring out HOW to be a good team.
During this time Zim became a hockey fan, which was awesome because I had yet another thing to talk to with him having played hockey through part of middle school and highschool. What was cool about the Thrashers was as I was being introduced to the team I actually had another team to cheer for and the games were always fun to go to.
Zim found a Thrasher's banner one day and started taking it to the games... and then eventually wearing it like a cape. In time he became one of the team's staple fans. Cape guy! While I wanted him to have a more shakesperian approach to this persona by having a skull with the opposing team's emblem on the head, he managed to maintain an awesome and stoic approach.
It was unfortunate to lose the team, I loved having the Thrashers local, and on occasion them coming to the bar and talk to the fans. Thanks to both Zim and his hubbie Puc, I had a team. As dedicated fans as they are, the team was lucky to have them their time here.
Happy birthday

The Atlanta Spirit group is the reason why we lost it, and they dropped the ball because it's a bunch of young entrepreneurs who don't know how to actually invest and think that profit is immediate rather than accrued over a period of time *eyeroll* but regardless we had an awesome time and I really think it was on the cusp of becoming one of the best
Race The Raccoon got me into The Thrashers and hockey. Sorry to see them go North. Awesome pic!
Man I didn't even know the Thrashers had been moved to Winnipeg until I saw this, that really is upsetting to me they were a great team and this makes the second team Atlanta has lost.
I liked this though it was a great picture to see in honor of my beloved Thrashers. Great to see.
