handy checklist for artists.

when you draw. what do you want? monies, or being able to draw freely?

few extra monies is nice, but having control of what you're drawing is just. priceless... I guess it just need balance between the two...

Ohh and don't mind me.. I'm just in a phase of recovering from artblocks.

There's always the middle option, to let people commission you for less money but only so long as you're allowed creative freedoms.

If I was ever skilled enough to do commissions, I'd be for money on the commission work. But that doesn't stop me from doing my own things for fun or doing something creative with what the commissioner wants.

I personally as a commissioner prefer to give the artist creative freedom. I love seeing what my favorite artists come up with for their own personal spin on my character. I give basic guidelines and a ref sheet but as long as my character isn't changed they have total freedom to do what they want with him.
