I am honestly at a standstill with this, since it didn't quite end up how I wanted it, and since I am now working on commissions, I'm less enthusiastic about spending hours just playing about with the piece, SO!

I'd say turn it against the wall for a while, work on the things you need to do and have more hwyl for. If it isn't feeling right now, when you look at it again in a week or two something might have gelled and you'll know exactly where to go with it then!
I do love the suggestion so far though. The sense of almost timeless patience and all is something that always rang true for her in my mind, but I always thought it was merely by choice, that she could at a snap become your worse nightmare if you truly deserved it.
