Created for Digital Artist Magazine Issue 30. My assignment was to create a lonely beach done in the Japanese ukiyo-e style. Had a lot of fun painting this, inking took forever.
The birds are tropicbirds and they have super cool tails. I have since done a watercolour painting of the top part of this piece and will post it whenever i get around to scanning it. My editor did a fantastic write up about ukiyo-e sansui paintings and the piece here: http://www.digitalartistdaily.com/b.....cape-painting/

I've just had a flashback to the first time I saw a tropic-bird... two red tail streamers, I'm pretty sure I remember that much. I must've been, what, ten?
Arctic Terns always fascinated me most, though. They seem too fragile and ethereal to exist, let alone to live the way they do. Incredible.

I'd say "stop drawing stuff that causes me to favorite multiple drawings in one sitting," but no... keep doing that. ;)
Your stylistic flexibility impresses me even more than your ability to properly use Painter, but I guess that explains why you're doing stuff for magazines. ;)
