the sword?
it's a nifty sword, no doubt! there were 2 different ones. actual forged replicas for $1000 (the one im holding) and china replicas for $100. The detail and craftsmanship were pretty clear in the details.

Well *a* broadsword. Dates from 1670. Been in the family for centuries.

I have never understood how people back then wielded them. They so look so ungainly. I have held my family's sword, and while I can lift it, it's hard for me to use it practically. People must have been stronger back then. :D

they trained with the sword daily. It kinda grows on you and becomes an extension of the body, like switching from one bike to another it feels weird but you get used to it.
Now, Asian swords were amazing craftsmanship. The center of gravity on a claymore usually is above the handle, somewhere in the blade. a properly made katana would be below the blade. More stability, where the broadswords are meant to generate power in the swing.

Aye yes...the Katana is also a lot more sharp. I've seen a folded metal one being made.

those are some serious business blades, the folded carbon steel ones.
