I also <3 the grass types, 3/5 gens I picked the grass type (though I do really like tepid from black and white I was just sick of the fire/fighting combo since I picked chimchar and torchic earlier respectively x_x)
I did really like turtwig too though... water is the one I've never cared for very much, mud kip is the only one I liked and I only ilke his first stage blah blah ramble XD

I usually pick grass and if I don't like the grass starter I go for water. I've never been a big fan of fire type. But Black/White has been different, while I adore Oshawott, I absolutely hate Snivy and I think Tepig is adorable. So I've been playing with Tepig in B/W. But I am slow and my Pokemon are only like level 25. XD
Cyndaquil was what I chose for Silver. I picked Totodile for Gold, and Crystal was kind of odd. Started with Cyndaquil, but the file eventually deleted itself..... then I started with Totodile. That save didn't last long either, but I did end up with a Feraligatr before it got deleted. Third time around... Chikorita. Female on the first try too. If it had been male, I would of tried for a female. Don't know if that file got deleted though.... been years. Soul Silver, I started with Cyndaquil. Heart Gold was Totodile.
