One of the things that I'd like to get better at is writing stories focused on transformation. This is part of my practice in that direction. It also serves a secondary goal of writing more about kittynaga, who's been on my mind lately. I've noticed that she's developing some very distinct tropes, and I am pleased by this. There's one thing that she's said in nearly every story so far, and I think that she's going to keep saying it - it's a nice little signal. I also am happy with a couple of subtler-than-usual touches that I worked into this. So: have some transformation, with some experimental touches.

I'm glad that more information about the kittynaga shone through - I'm still working on making her likable, but also distinctly alien, gnomic, and distant. It's a fun challenge. I think that in this story we see a little more of what she wants than usual. I'm very happy about the cute mental image of huge kittynaga with little-bitty glasses. Also I like the suggestion, which was made very indirectly in the story, that getting all over her statues and mentally entangling with them, is a form of sexual interaction for her.
