In NY, i am staying at my uncles house of course. But it is also the house that my mother and her brothers all grew up n such. As i continuously tromp up and down these damn stairs, this is the image that popped in my head.

Gotta love that shoddy phone coloring XD

slide down the hand rail so you don't have to walk down the stairs as for up it be hard to side back up

My stairs are like that.

But they're not the sqeuaky kind. The sound is more akin to the loud snapping sound of wood just about to break apart.

this happens to me at my aunts house when I'm going for silent snacks and company is sleeping first my door goes NNNRRREEEEEEEK-K-K. And then every stair decides itss a sound block from minecraft. Then to finalize it the fridge door slams against a wall when I turn away.This house hates stealth.

I know this feeling so much. Before we got new carpets on our old wooden stairs, even the weight of my cat would make the stairs squeak like crazy!

that's just what it seems like when trying to be quiet on old stairs. though during the day when running up and down them that sound blast of a creak seems to go away

The house I live in is about 50+ years old. Try that squeaking, but with about 90% of the flooring. Such a pain...

my issue about sneakin' out my joints would pop as loud as wood creaking under weight when i slowly descended my stairs...the stairs were cemented

Agreed, L.L. Happens practically every night I go downstairs to get a drink. Creaks and pops every step (unless I'm lucky and the stairs stay quiet, once in great while)

By the way, love the sound you put in for the steps.

I know this all too well my house is over 100 years old .....and the stairs he so old that one caved in as i stepped on it....fixed that with plywood...still squeaks
