261 submissions
I received a very interesting note the other day.
It said "Hey, Tony, don't you get tired of posting those
long stories with every picture you submit? Maybe you should
try being less wordy."
I sat back and thought about that for a moment.
No, I concluded, I enjoy posting my silly ramblings.
I've got a lot to say, and my head would explode if I kept
all those crazy experiences to myself.
However, I promised my note-sender that I would try
to be less verbose and to practice an economy of speech,
at least once.
So, to that end, here is a simple picture of Rudyard.
No back story except to say that he is a wonderful friend.
Oh, he also reminds you to rescue or adopt a dog from
a shelter. And to spay and neuter your pets.
And to give them lots of marflebits.
K, that is all.
Gee, that was easy!
Now I'll feel less guilty when I post my novel...

Here's the thing about your postings, I like watching you and checking all of your posts BECAUSE of the detail you add to them. You also try to reply to every comment you get, which I admire. I think if you were to post less, it would make you stand out less. Your uploads wouldn't be as amusing. I love reading the little stories that are added to every submission. Because when I look at that picture again, I can easily recall what you had to say about it.
If you post less, then the picture means less as well.
If the note-sender wants less, he can skip reading your descriptions. Which is also why it is called a DESCRIPTION. You are SUPPOSED to DESCRIBE what is going on.

Thank you, my friend!
I appreciate the support very much. It is because of folks like you that I
write what I do. I'm thrilled with the positive response, and I always look
forward to commenting on each person's thoughts.
And I agree, the description is supposed to be... descriptive!

Less wordy? Dogbomb?? Umpossible!
I think the number of people who enjoy your stories greatly exceeds the lone dissenter. And since you enjoy writing, you should go with that. My feeling is that if someone doesn't appreciate your verbosity, they may easily skip over the wordy parts.
As for today's picture and message; both me and my shelter-rescued German Shepherd give a big Thumbs Up! :3

That dog is so stellar. Lol Your stories inspire me in a way, to just go nuts. Without them, I wouldn't have quite the same incentive to go out and be crazy. Lol I read them and I just feel motivated to do crazy cool stuff. Keep writing those long stories dude, the dude who sent that message just needs to get used to the reading thang. Haha
I think alot of us can agree its the stories that go along with the great pictures you post are what are awesome, especially if they are wordy. Not to say you have to keep doing them but just so you know, I think a majority of the people here enjoy your tales or wordyness in the submission info~
Thank you, my friend!
Even though they do take only a few minutes to read, I'm
gratified that you still take the time to do so.
With so many forms of media competing for our
attentions every day, I'm amazed that folks are still
able to find time for me. It's very much appreciated!

People get jealous at the ability of other people to be verbose
with their stories, their comments, and their descriptions. Your
little blurbs, even when they're not so little, are always well
thought out, immaculately typed, and grammatically correct,
and that makes some people explode in their head.
And this is what makes them want to make other people not
do what they can't. They want to be The Man and tell you that
you shouldn't do what it is that you love, what you're so much
better at than them.
Well I say "illegitimi non carborundum"!
You go, DB.
TL;DR: OMG U RAWK!

My grammar and spelling aren't always so perfect,
but I do appreciate the compliment very much,
and so does my high school English teacher!
I love to write my silly stories, and I'm glad that
you take the time to read. Maybe I should post two
versions of the same submission; one for folks that
like to review my drivel, and one for those that just
like the picture and few choice words.
Whatever the case, I really do appreciate the feedback.
Thanks again.
Yes, don't let 'em get you down, and I won't!

DogBomb,
You just continue doing things the way you always have done. Its what makes you the person you are! People that are unwilling to read the descriptions can do one of two things. They can look at the pics and move on or they can unwatch you. The latter would be to their disadvantage as you bring so much to FA and the Fandom, in general.
In a previous journal, you mentioned writing stories. Look at all the encouragement you got. Your descriptions not only add tot he picture, they extend the picture and captures our imaginations. Do what you do best and that's being the great and wonderful guy you are that brings us all so much pleasure living vicariously through your suiting and stories :3

Thank you so much, my friend!
I really appreciate all the support.
Judging from the responses I've received, I expect to continue my habit
of wordy submissions. I'm truly grateful that you take the time to read and
comment on my stuff. That makes the entire venture worthwhile for me.
I hope no one is turned away by my stories, but, if they are, I guess there
are plenty of places to go on FA for pictures only.
Or, as you said, they can skip my descriptions and just look at the pic.
Either way, I truly do appreciate your input.

Yes, he does!
He came from a rescue group in So Cal.
He was in the shelter in Chula Vista for several days,
and when his owner finally got around to coming for him,
the charges to spring him from doggy jail were fairly steep.
The story I got was the owner shook his head when he saw
the bill, said "you can keep him," and turned on his heel and left.
The shelter called the rescue group because they knew he was a poor
candidate for adoption, and he spent several months in various
foster homes. He was adopted twice, but neither stuck.
A friend if mine knew someone at the group, and they called me
when they heard that I was looking for a dog.
It was not love at first sight, as Rud was scared to death of almost
everything, including me! He was a doggy wreck, and it took him several
months to calm down and start to trust me.
All these years later, he has a CGC certificate, an agility championship
and my undying love. He is an amazing dog to have overcome his crappy
start to life. Second chance dogs are the best.
Thank you for asking. I'm going to give him hugs now.

You're welcome. Rescue dogs are amazing.
We have two rescues and they are so adorable and
we're lucky to have them as part of our family.
I also just want to say that you're a really nice person.
I'm sure you get that a lot and I'm sure you know it's true.
I hope we can talk more in the future because I would like to talk more.
I like making new friends :)

I love the stories you put in your descriptions! It's half the reason I watch you, it adds so much to each thing you upload. It's awesome hearing how you've interacted with the people in each photo. And you have a wonderful writing style. As long as you feel like it, keep it up!
Oh, and this dog is such a cutie.

Rudyard? As in...Kipling? Wow!
'If'
those who complain about your wordiness would kindly browse elsewhere (the Internet being so big and life being so short as to make such useless mewling completely unjustifiable), they would make room for we who appreciate the warmth and (forgive me) humanity that so abundantly radiate from your posts.
And, if I knew of a bar where anthro dogs so freely and fondly mingled with humans (and, perhaps, ersatz stallions), I'd less often enjoy my beer solely in the company of my laptop.

Yes, that's the author!
Kipling was strange bird, but a wonderful writer.
My Rud is strange bird, but a wonderful dog, so it all fits...
I thank you very much for your kind words; they carry weighty meaning
for me as they come from someone with years of experience with
writers and writing.
Next time we head out for a cold one at the local watering hole,
you are more than welcome to join in!

Yeee-haw, that would be swell. But I was teasin' on FaceBook about somebody else payin' for beer. I'm not actually a mooch. *Dangles rusty old tools in front of your muzzle* I was thinking about Cypress Swap Meet this Saturday, too...hankerin' for another hammer. Whaddya say? Get the tools, c'mon on boy, get the tools! Good dog!
I love the fact that you write a long story to each of your pictures. They're always very inspiring to me since sometimes I can be very pessimistic about people, but your posts always give me a little bit of hope back. Always with the fact that you take the time to reply to pretty much EVERY single comment you receive is worth mentioning. I've never really seen someone so dedicated to even attempt that, and even trying at least once to cut back on the tales you tell is something I could never imagine.
Rudyard is quite the handsome dog. ;) I would adopt a dog but I don't think they would be very happy in my tiny apartment and no yard to run around in (safely at least).
So to all that I just say. KEEP IT UP!

Thank you so much!
That is a huge compliment for me- if my silly stories make
you think of humanity in less bleak terms, then I must be doing
something right. I really appreciate the support.
I'm sure that someday, when you own a palatial ranch with acres of room,
you will make many second chance dogs very happy!

Hm, how do I say it ...
Well: I watch you for the nice words you always find. When I check a new post from you I always do it with when I have a bit time to do so, since it is not only the photo I'm looking for. I enjoy to read your nice written posts and the messages you tell us with them. Every body may interpret or take another message from it, but in my opinion everyone is important.
They make me always smile and remember me that there are still other (good) thinks in life that we humans just forget to often to cherish.
Some people express feelings with artwork, others with words. ;P

Wow, thank you!
I'm really pleased that actually save my submissions for when
you have a few minutes to read them. That really means a lot to me!
There are so many types of media competing for our attention these days,
that I'm really gratified that you find mine worthy of viewing.
Thank you again!
