'Course, there be a (Mine)field of ethics questions. Easily sidestepped by Arthur C Clarke's concept of the "Legal person" applying to nonhuman intelligence of a suitable level.
But I digress. First thing I'd do upon purchase of a 1400 would be to install a much more robust power system, and some basic defense systems. Love is a lot more meaningful as the opposite of violence, than simply it's absence.
