A quick idea that developed after i realized i had to scrap my last character design because it wasn't up to snuff for me to release it.
And since everybody is putting out their halloween picture i sort of feel like making a connection to halloween myself...so maybe this is his halloween costume? I don't know.
Really all i wanted to do was a somewhat old styled portrait with a very classy T-Rex. The first sketches had a Tophat and a Pipe , but i went with a more Baroque-esque style of clothing because i couldn't quite the Tophat to work.
So i hope you all had a very pleasant halloween and enjoy the painting!

Hum, darwin wasn't really renaissance, but i think the only species that would really fit to darwin would be some sort of ape. Maybe not very creative, but in my opinion simply the most fitting for what he has achieved. Such a simple and yet uneblievably beautiful idea and so it would only be fair if he would make the last step over to our nearest cousins.
For Da vinci i'd probably choose something like a Lion, i always adored the style of his sketches for the strong forms and edges they had, yet his finished paintings were quite soft in comparison. Coupled with the curiousity he had about the about the human body, and his stunning investigations in the multiple areas of engineering, botanic and such. He just seems like the the king who ruled over so many areas and his curiousity brought forth more and more still over time.
