I was originally going to write a brief story to go along with this picture but most of it speaks for itself, so I'll just give some brief info on the characters present.

Hollyfur daughter of Bluesky and Cloudbrush, better known to family as Merry, lies down in front of hir beloved life mate Stormcloud daughter of Bluesky and Cloudbrush (aka Sturm). Merry and Sturm are the first two of Bluesky's children and are twins.

Once they were mated and decided to finally have cubs Merry was going to have children first while Sturm would continue hir career in Starfleet. Unfortunately due to a double dose of heightened fertility inherited from Bluesky Merry found hirself pregnant with quadruplets. Merry almost died trying to carry the cubs to full term, and they had to be delivered by Caesarean section a month and a half early in December of 2355.

This picture shows the family a year later in December 2356, all four cubs have grown quickly and seem to be very normal youngsters. From left to right we have Chakats Westfire about to pounce on hir mother's tail, Northsnow sleeping comfortably next to hir mother, Eastwind on hir mother's back thinking about going for Hollyfur's ears, and lastly Southwood about to attack hir sleeping sister. The four of them together can be quite a pawfull. I know humans say children enter the terrible twos when they are two years old, these four made me think that chakat cubs enter the terrible twos when they are two months old!

Stormcloud and Hollyfur tried several times to get the kittens all settled down for a group picture, but finally decided that for the Christmas, card they needed a picture that showed what life could truly be like sometimes.
