Lying in the Tall Grass
A golden tabby tigress lies down among the wild flowers and tall grass, daydreaming. Perhaps she is thinking about one she loves, or just letting her mind go free as she watches the clouds above.
I find the patterning on golden tabby/strawberry tigers particularly beautiful, and it was a real treat to try and paint this rare color morph. I tried some new techniques in blending the watercolor and colored pencil, and experimented with a limited color pallet and purple shading. I think it turned out quite soft, which goes nicely with the image.
She will be available in the FC 2013 Art Show!

I wish I could make FC this year, this piece would be MINE.
I so want to commission you for a tigress. I saw you mentioned perhaps opening commissions in the spring. Would they be open slots or a ladder auction like I last remember seeing?
The purple shading works well with this piece, I quite often use indigo.

heh.. only thing so far today that's cheered me up is seeing this pic. I have to send my laptop in for repairs (luckily I have a 3 year warranty and it's covered) after I accidentally knocked a full glass of juice over onto it's keyboard, so for my birthday it's kinda a crummy one.
But this picture at least gave me a smile, so thanks for that. :)
