This is the method I use to make the fur in my tails. I sew these onto a braided base.

the longer fibers in the higher grade yarns is realy usefull in holding it togeather, i like your tails ziaki =3
i make my tails kinda like you do ,though i dont have a hair straightener so i just use a larger brush/comb and then a finer one a bit more vigerusly, seems to work for the brand of yarn i've used but takes more time than your meathed i sopose and is probly more likely to pull out the fibers. =p

I think I remember answering this before. It's really very very simple.
You take your yarn (I use 30 strands for my normal width tails) and cut each strand to about 3 times the length you want your tail.
Then you got a binder ring or a carabiner clip. You take your 30 or so strands of yarn and drape it over the clip so that the loose ends on both sides are even.
Then you just braid it to the bottom and either tie a knot or I wrap the end tightly with another piece of yarn and tie it off.

Thank you for that. I had commissoned u come time back and i figured that i would learn how to make this. I want a very long and poseable snow leopard tail. I know it would probably run me in the high 300 dollar range to have it commissioned, but do you have a seperate tutorial for making leopard spots? any suggestions on doing this time consuming process?
I actually don't have much practice with leopard spots. I'm actually working on a leopard tail right now that i'm sure is going to be a learning experience for me.
The only suggestions I can really offer is find something interesting to watch on T.V. and take breaks or your hands will be in a lot of pain.
