So I think it's safe to say that I've built up a sort of quote unquote "brand" here on this page. And in some ways that feels like a good thing. I certainly can't think of anyone else whose made ballbusting art of mascots... at least not just as a one-off thing related to a Super Bowl or something.
However, there are... certain problems with this. Namely the feeling of being pigeon holed into a very select style of art. Sure, you build up an audience, but that audience comes with expectations. Expectations that you need to make a very specific kind of art, and if it doesn't fit into that arbitrary criteria of what has been expected of the person behind the art, it is shunned by the audience.
I guess to dispense with the haughty, pretentious shit, I feel an urge to move outside the boundaries of what I've done here. Y'know, spread my creative wings. I'm not going to stop with mascot busting art, and especially not ballbusting art in general. But that's kind of the deal, ain't it? I want to do more than just mascots when it comes to ballbusting art. Hell, maybe if I'm feeling particularly fiendish, I'll comm some non-busting NSFW art, or even (gasp!) SFW art.
Again, I'm not going to suddenly become like a puritan, but like... not going to lie, I feel like if I keep on this single minded idea of what this page should be, I'm just going to burn myself out and lose passion. I'll be a shambling creative zombie who does things out of obligation and not of need. And I don't want that. I can't guarantee you'll all be happy with this shift, but I gotta do what's right for me. Besides, trying to please everyone in art is career suicide anyway. So I guess all I ask is just... bear with me here. Please. Hopefully I'll make it worth it.
