GSFC

So, I just got back from GSFC. For a first time ever con, it was definitely a shock. I have never seen a fursuit irl until Friday morning and I admit I was suffering from some culture shock for basically the whole time I was there. Did see a lot of cool things and met lots of people.
Though I'll admit there was some negative to it. For one I felt reeeally out of place. Since I had no fursuit and only had a badge of Seth, I felt like I almost didn't belong there. Which honestly dissuades me from going into any other cons until I get my own suit first.
regardless big thanks to the staff and all the other cool people I got to meet. I do hope to go to another con maybe one day if an opportunity presents itself.

Besides locals, the main people who would fly out to attend relatively smaller conventions -- like GSFC -- are the people who are really into suiting and conventions overall, so you'll probably see a higher proportion of suiters at these events.
You'll still feel a little out of place, but the amount of solace it can give you just to be with others who might feel the same boat, it brings the con experience to another level you don't expect
t. someone whose con experiences were miserable every time until i went to mff with a group
Still glad you got to have the experience and hope it was at least enjoyable, though. Worth going to at least one, just to say you have the experience, and see if its for you.
