AI art feeling very daunting
General
Lately I've been seeing more ai submissions on the front page from time to time.
I am curious what's the discourse about it. I know it is banned and I do my part by reporting evident AI art but there's also the issue of it getting more difficult to spot.
More over, when commenting to people who post these, often the reception is -very- hostile, and particularly so when it is a commissioner who has been essentially scammed.
One grey area I've stumbled upon is AI -assisted- art, if you can even call it that. Some pieces, particularly ych's, being either, I suppose traced? from ai art or the like. I assume that is also against TOS. I am legimitely curious what the common consensus is about it though, morally.
Personally I am quite against it given the complete divorce from the human element that the word ART is known for. As a tool, it sounds like it would be helpful but personally, I would want artists who use such tools to disclose as much and I would not want to partake in such art either.

Hope that makes sense!
Also, your stuff is super cute! I took a look over it.
Aww thank you so much! I appreciate that you took the time to have a look
AI art of any caliber removes attention from artists who actually put in the effort- not to mention the commissioners who actually enjoy supporting such efforts.
It goes beyond "its a tool".
It would be the equivalent of paying a writer for a story and realizing the entire thing was written by Chat-GPT. You're paying for authenticity, not something you could do yourself for free.
But hey that's just my two cents.
Regarding YCH poses as an example, there's an obvious difference between taking inspiration from a few different things and just tracing something online that was likely just multiple sources stolen from artists who actually took the time to create something unique.
So, in short, it's either theft or just plain uncreative. Both of which don't have much of a place on a site focused on individualism and creativity.
I will report AI Submissions day in and day out.
And since Ai cannot recreate your OC's like an artist can do, it's 100% useless to me. Especially since there is not a single AI User who can actually make a 100% error free picture.
I do fear reporting false positives though, which some artists have already seen.
