One month ago, fA added an option to change the display font. I was approaching it in the settings, but got distracted by an option I didn't know about... In short, ever since my last text update, I've been using the "Classic" site layout. It's a design that got overhauled years before I joined the site. Some of the UX differences are more interesting than the others. Like, the submission pages don't have sidebars, and the "change the View" function is a more consistent 'larger ↔ smaller' instead of the modern 'default ↔ slightly bigger or way smaller depending on image height'..
While I was in the timehole, didn't they full-release Display Names? I couldn't change mine in Classic Mode. Classic Mode displays others' display names, but it doesn't let you set your own. I don't get how that works. anyways this update didn't have me zipping back to Modern!fA, as it only half-solves the issue I have with my username.
The update that had me zipping back to Modern!fA was the institution ^{restitution? huh} of community banners. You see, Classic!fA... does not display the site banner. If you have a personal account banner, that will show up just fine, even though personal banners were implemented long after the old site's time. But anywhere the default banner art should be displayed, the top of the page is just blank. Why is it so arbitrary??
