To all of you,
This is dedicated to all of you. I’ve seen so many wonderful things, from elaborate stories to simple rants about life, and I would like to take a moment to thank every artist and contributor for your valiant efforts. Without you, this wouldn’t be the artist haven that it is.
In fact, it is all of you that provide fuel for the fantasy and the creativity that gives us inspiration to create our own works or simply see other sides of our everyday life. We are encouraged to see the joy of the simple things, or even better understand the more difficult things in life. We all go through life working, doing chores, handling the tasks of what for some may otherwise be remedial and lackluster. This outlet though, this outlet that provides us a whole other world to escape in through your many contributions, provides something entirely different. There are no responsibilities of tomorrow in what we read or see here, and really there is no requirement for you to share any of your creations with us (and each other). In brutal reality, you have no obligation to return here and continue on sharing what it is that you do. And for that, I think we all owe each other a great token of gratitude I have yet to see.
Whoever you may be, photographer or Microsoft word master, painter or blogger of the day, I thank all of you for returning here to continue letting us into your world. Letting us share your artistic vision, your enjoyment for all things you do, and in most cases even asking us for any critiques or observations to aid you in becoming even better at what you do. Some of the most talented individuals, I have found no other than this site. But in reality, this site creates a medium between artist and viewer. It does not give you assistance on writing that series of endless chapters, that aids in our dreams of something else. Your creativity, your creations are all on you and for that, you also deserve credit. No matter how short or simple, it takes courage to share your creations with us, and even more to return no matter how bad the comments or ratings might be.
The amount of votes you have and the amount of favorites… It relies on so many things. How many people were here that day? How many groups was it added to? How mainstream is the topic of choice? What does it all mean?
It means that no matter the results, there are viewers that you have touched. No matter the subject or the depth, you are known. Somewhere out there is someone that relates to you, feels what you feel, knows what you know, and perhaps even owes you for that fresh perspective or simply for your showing that we viewers aren’t alone. We readers know that somewhere, there is someone that understands, and reciprocates, and even can personify that in an image or artistically arranged words. I’m sure there are readers and viewers that have never voted, are too scared to acknowledge that we aren’t alone or you have touched us, or maybe even just too shy to acknowledge how much they love what you’ve created. But the truth is, no amount of fav-ing or five star ratings can truly show what you have done for us.
So artists of all sorts, hats off to you and I sincerely hope regardless of how good you think you may or may not be, keep doing what you do. I beg you to never give up, always search for something more, and thank you for sharing with us all.
