Boom goes the DSL Modem
So I come home from work and decided to install a WRT310N wireless router into my network. I hook it up and configure it and suddenly my Speedtouch 516 DSL modem starts acting funny.
I turned it off and rebooted it back up and it powers up with a red light. I managed to find internet elsewhere to diagnose the problem, also called my ISP just to make sure. Looks like I have to purchase a replacement DSL modem.
Going to get a TP-Link 8616 DSL modem, there reasonably priced at $30 compared to teksavvy's $75 for a speedtouch and work just as good I hear. I've had my Speedtouch 516 for 4 years and no hiccups till today and it runs round the clock so I guess I got my money's worth.
