Vacation Away
Well I disappear from the world of electronics and internet for 2 weeks recently.
I went to Las Vegas, Nevada for 4 nights with my parents and my brother and his wife. Visited many casinos, played blackjack and came out $20 up at Ceasars Palace. Played Texas Holdem tournament at Treasure Island Casino, didn't do so well but at least I wasn't first out and was in it for about 3 to 4 hrs.
Ate delicious food at Bacchanal Buffet which has 500 different items. $55 a plate, but all you can stuff in your mouth. Sushi was super awesome there, they had crab legs and lobster and pretty much anything you can think of all the food was amazing.
Saw John Caparulo at the South Point Casino off the street, damn hilarious guy. Tickets were about $25-$30 and so worth it, my stomach hurt from laughing so much.
Hit up Hofbrauhaus, the only German Restaurant in Vegas, super authentic delicious german food, and a wicked german band playing on stage. Giant beer steins and all. There homemade beer is wicked.
Went to Fremont Street aka Old Vegas. Walked through the Golden Nugget and watched the awesome music video show in the ceiling of Fremont Street and saw the crazy zip line ride they offer that goes down fremont street.
Weather was extremely hot, was 103 to 122 the whole time there, tried to use the casinos to navigate and stay out of the heat.
Also went to The Quad hotel and casino to the Hash A Go-Go House which makes awesome corn beef hash and other wicked breakfast stuff, had a Bloody Mary and got to keep the cool slanted glass it came in.
Went to Pole Position Go Kart raceway which was awesome for $30 for 21 laps, came in 2nd place just behind my brother by 2 seconds a lap. Was amazingly fun and would recommend going to Pole Position if your in Vegas or anywhere else there available. They picked us up from the hotel and brought us back by there own shuttle so that saved on cab fares.
Flew to Albany, NY to my brothers house after 4 days in Vegas and hung out and relaxed afterwards. Weather was cooler there but still warm in the 75-95 area, he got Air Conditioning installed though so it made the time there much more bearable than Las Vegas. Enjoy dinner out there at the Olive Garden and had some friends of my brothers over for a backyard BBQ.
Now to recuperate from the jet lag and back to work Monday.
