Like actual Sketches.

A friend of mine has been trying to push it through my thick skull people don't mind 'wip' like work and hell, some genuinely like it. I'm working on a sketch page as I type that I'll be posting and I'll try to post more sketches instead of only feeling like I can post heavily worked on pieces.

It's weird all the steps someone has to take to get rid of a lot of biases they've been built up with but this one, along with the bases one, probably will really help me grow and I know it.

Being able to post things not finished means I can post more in general since the main issue is I never finish things. I have so many wip. It also just gives me the feeling I can just make sketches and never intend to go further so I can actually do more and learn more and grow as an artist faster. I'm so used to being told I have to do full pieces or at the very least semi clean work that I never really want to do much and what I do dies so fast.

It really is amazing going from an unhealthy artist environment to a healthy one, even if it's been a year now and I've still got a lot of work to do.

I'm so tempted one of these days to try my own attempt at making a fursuit. I never thought I'd really want to do that but this latest sona of mine has clicked something perfectly with me and it's gotten me such a mighty need. That being the protogen I've named Aeri'thul Dreadbinder.

I'd have to start learning from scratch since I've never made any costume stuff before, and I only see protogen heads that are closed and electronic and I don't have any experience with that and I'd want electronic eyes + open functioning mouth. Probably with lights inside to really make it glow or at least glow in the dark paint parts. Protogen fur suits seem so hard and add I really find the ability to have an opening mawl important makes it feel all the more harder for a first suit.

In the mean time I'm going to make some little clay pieces based on it and there's this shop that makes keychains based on your sona? That sounds cool.

Don't know what it is but this protogen of mine is just perfect so expect him everywhere and I'm slowly building up a cast of characters that interact with him because fuck it he feels good, feels me, and I want to dive fully into that and pamper myself to all hell lol. Cripple dudes need pampering sometimes too instead of constantly being pitied.

So, I am deciding for the new year to actually try to work on getting better at character design. In part I'm tired of always feeling I need to buy things that are just slightly what I want because I can't make it myself and start saving up for stuff I really want to buy and just support artists I love and actually save up for getting commissions more than adopts.

In honour of that and because of a suggestion, I'm going to do a little design challenge for myself that I'll be posting as I do it just also to start making more stuff. Which is Pokémon themed ponies. Why? Just, kinda always liked how a lot of the ways people design and do ponies and it's such a nice base with plenty of room to do things with so why not. Might sell some of them in the future if I don't want to keep them and then keep any I do and build them into more characters.
Also sort of got the idea because I did buy a bulbasaur based pony a while back and it does make me want to make more Poké friends for her.

So expect that for a bit, and best part is it'll help me also with drawing one of my biggest weaknesses, hair. My biggest weakness is eyes. I can't do eyes, can't do hair. I am fine with drawing hands but don't make me draw eyes oh please, and my hair takes forever and I never like it. So since ponies are a lot of hair it'll really help me build that up lol.

If anyone wants to request any specific Pokémon to do sooner than later you can send the request my way. I'm probably just going to start with any random Pokémon that inspires me or some of my favourites and go from there otherwise.

/ these ponies will be made on/with bases because useful tool. I'm not trying to learn to draw ponies I'm trying to learn to design characters and draw hair better.

I keep finding so many cool YCH or buying new characters to have hang out with my sonas, even drew one of them all hot and sexy, and what do I keep forgetting I need to do?

Actually create reference sheets for my sonas. I know I got a commission of one of them but that was with an incomplete sheet and even with my best attempts at explaining the face marking couldn't get explained right but I didn't want to be annoying, my fault not having a fully finished sheet right?

I keep trying to work on it and instead keep working on my little harem instead. It's so much easier working on a harem than trying to get your sonas to be just right.

I got the one sona that I have most finished Zin Vulcanla, the one in my icon, who's my 'twink' sona and is a goat sheep hybrid and the one I don't have any images at all for yet is my 'bear' sona, I don't even have a name yet, or a 'species' just like traits and some basic shape concepts. I admit for bear I used a fursona generator as a base and just modifying it until it feels right.

Sonas are so hard other than just characters you like and wanna play around with. W h y.

One of these days I'm going to finally finish them both get all that information out on a sheet like thing and be so happy because I'll be able to actually use them and it'll be a damn good day. Getting to explore myself, give myself body positivity, and just have a damn good time on the internet fuck yes.

I totally didn't make this to distract from making those sonas and because I literally almost started to work on little doodles of the harem than actually work on them again
