🌺 I have taken a step back from YCH's in favor of more stream sketches. I have a set of commissions I'll be making with Breed Inc coming soon! My next special commission event for PapayaMist will be some super spicy eggy art for Easter (cuz I'm garbage). I love me some oviposition and eggy preggies. 🌺
Streams
I usually have 1-3 slots open per stream in between standard queue commissions. You can catch monotone sketches and sketch sequences. I'm also offering fully colored thigh ups during streams with shading. 🌺 I got a new Webcam in TX from my cousin! I'll have it on me during digital streams and can use it for traditional streams! I liked using my phone, but it was really demanding on my little laptop. I offer sketch and watercolor commissions during traditional streams.

Standard commissions are closed. The next opening will likely be in early March once I return from my trip back to TX 🌺 I have taken a step back from YCH's in favor of more stream sketches, but those should make a comeback once that Spring fever hits and I've got space in the queue.

I'm most excited to have landed on a successful setup for streaming TRADITIONALLY I can use my phone as an IP webcam and have been LOVING the output!! 🌺 I'll be holding traditional streams at least once a week, and probably more leading up to TFF as I get ready! I'll be open for sketches, badges, and maybe some watercolor!!

December Updates - Comms CLOSED - Open in Stream ONLY

I'm sorry for the gap in my activity. Here's what's going on and what to expect for the next coupld of months.
DEC DRAMS
I got a new kitty named Honey for my birthday present from my husband! She's my sweet little age indeterminate, booty-mouth trash baby :3 Hubby's resident cat is a territorial butthole, so I have been having to dump a lot of time into being a crazy cat lady cleaning up after and working with these smol predators we insist on living with. Any advice you have about integrating cats or caring for one with tooth deccay, let me knowwwww.
SO I was driving in a Blizzard on December the-only-day-i-was-uninsured-5-days-before-my-birthday, 1 and skidded into a crosswalk sign taking out part of our car's bumper and headlighht. I was fine, but only on the outside. SO that has been a whole lotta fun😥. My weekend job is busy for the holidays, so I've been snagging as many hours as I can there, as well. I've been battling a lot of depressos from holiday and birthday homesickness / sads idek. I'm working to shake everything out and spend time getting my groove back in this community. I used to have more IRL furry buddies, but since I transplanted, I've been on the hunt for locals. I start feeling really isolated from the community and it's just lame 😥
I'm setting a schedule for the next couple of months to make up for this chunk of lost time thanks to live curveballs. I have a nice whiteboard method I've been implementing and just overall working on my mental health. My deepest apologies the time it's taken me to update in more detail on what's keeping the queue so slow. I appreciate your understanding.
Kalo's Birthday Onsen YCH
The project is being downsized to include fewer characters, but the huge crowd was still a fun bit of practice.
Because of the adverse circumstances, I was unable to host my Birthday Onsen YCH Stream when I had initially planned in the first week of December. See YCH HERE I'll be streaming this event this week, starting with the claimed spots. Any slots that don't go during the stream will be cut out. If you want in the pic, but aren't feeling any of the open poses, we can do a custom one. Just comment on the submission or hit me up in the stream itself if you want to step on in for a wintertime soak :3 See Full Info Here
Inktober-vember: Inky Depths & Spooky Lingerie
These comms are still in progress. My apologies for the delay on this project. I'm making a Trello page that will include the status of these comms.

If you have already submitted a form or been in touch with me before December about a comm, I'll be reaching out soon. Otherwise, standard commissions are on hiatus for the foreseeable future. Comm openings will only be in streams.
Streams
I want to transition to comms in streams only for a while. I am not happy with the way I have been managing my standard queue, including YCH's in the last season or so. I have had a lot on my plate, but I still have a lot to work on as an artist© as far as managing working from home as a pro.

OCTOBER ALMOST OVER 😱🎃😱

Things are going slower than I'd like them to this season, but my schedule seems to have finally shaken out into something normal. SO, Recap, I moved in August, same week the PC compy died, I had like 2 weeks, then family visiting for 3 solid weeks, a week just us, then another week of family visiting. Day job hunting with brutal interviews, husband finding a new job, and me getting a job that only lasted 3 days, changing my med dosage ALL comin at me this season D8
SO as much as I'm really unhappy with my output right now, I'm trying not to be super hard on myself. I have had a tough time establishing my routine with so much changing on me all the time D8 Especially when you draw smutt for $$ and have fam around 😱
I now have a weekend job to get my ass outta the depresso's for some dollo's 3 days a week. It's a holiday rush deli/kitchen/cashier job at a historic touristy general store in New Hampshire that's been open for 150 years. I sell cheese and clean a lot. Our cheese cutter has a book. I'm hoping it'll help me balance my routine for my online work because working from home has had it's own isolation challenges I've been fighting along with transplanting across the country.
It just sucks cuz I've been so tied up in SO much stuff, I barely feel like I've gotten my Spooky-ween in this year 😭 I'm going to keep my Inky Depths and Spooky Lingerie projects going thru November cuz I'm really craving that traditional art work. I have 2 Spooky YCH's I've been sitting on, too that I'm ITCHING to release once I make some today.
Inktober-vember: Inky Depths
I still have open slots for Inky Depths commissions. I'm going to keep this project going thru November even though it'll be spooky. Together, we can keep the spooky spirit alive through autumn before we have to surrender to Christmas 🤣

I'm in a standard queue work phase right now with comms closed for the time being. Once I have space, I can spice things up with some comm streams bringing you all that gewd TF sequence love.

OCTOBER UPDATES 🧡🖤 Day Job False Alarm
General | Posted 6 years agoHello my Looves! Happy Early Halloween (Again)
SO. The day job fell through as of Friday 🙃 It was very painless, but mega lame. WHICH MEANS normal art stuff is back on the menu. Honestly, it was kind of a relief cuz sharing a car with the hubby was gonna make a DREADFUL commute. I'm just glad they made up their mind early cuz it leaves plenty of time for Halloween art. I even got my hands on some real ass ink to play with!
Right now, I have family visiting until this Thursday the 10th, so things will be pretty slow until then. I'll mostly be working traditionally while they're here.

SO. The day job fell through as of Friday 🙃 It was very painless, but mega lame. WHICH MEANS normal art stuff is back on the menu. Honestly, it was kind of a relief cuz sharing a car with the hubby was gonna make a DREADFUL commute. I'm just glad they made up their mind early cuz it leaves plenty of time for Halloween art. I even got my hands on some real ass ink to play with!
Right now, I have family visiting until this Thursday the 10th, so things will be pretty slow until then. I'll mostly be working traditionally while they're here.

Our home is slowly coming together with lots of work and help from my visiting family. My compy, Ocean Machine, is in pieces to be resuscitated at a later time. THOUGH I have a fantastic New setup for my work area featuring my laptop. I'm very sorry I super underestimated how busy I was gonna be, so I didn't plan ahead very well. I appreciate your understanding, definitely, and I thought it was funny how many of you said I sounded well planned. 😂
To manage things, I'm on a Halloween Hibernation until October 1, here's a quick version of what that means:
Standard Commissions Closed
No additional standard commissions will be accepted. Commission submissions received before August 8th are in exception and will be addressed as slots open in queue.
Standard Queue Streams
I am unable to plan a streaming schedule at this time. Streams will only be standard queue and most likely be at night for the next month or so. I will not have visitors for about the entire month of September, so I hope to resume posting a bi-monthly schedule then.
Comm Streams
Towards September, I will resume commission streams about twice a week. These streams are not part of the standard queue. During Comm Streams, I will accept Sketches, Sketch Refs, or Sketch Sequences only.

Comms Closed: Updates & Halloween Hibernation

I have a mixed bag of news.
I just moved into my first house. It has been an incredible step for my husband and I. Right before the move, the graphics card in my workstation went out, so that made me absolutely nuts. I have been using my laptop to hobble along, but it lacks most of the software I rely on. On Saturday, I'm going a-questing with some buddies to hopefully revive my poor compy. I will post an up to date queue once that happens.
The crappiest news is that I need to find a day job to make ends meet for a while. I really haven't been taking it well, which is why I've kinda dropped off. I'm so sorry. I've had a day job and kept up with freelance work before, but I have A LOT to settle out with a new home and a new schedule before I can confidently keep accepting work. I also have tons of family about to visit. I can barely describe how much the support and enthusiasm from this community means to me. I love my work and this community so much that accepting that it has to take a back seat for a while has wrecked me up and down.
The worst part's over though. I have a promising interview tomorrow for a bakery position, so hopefully that works out! I've tried getting back into pro graphics work, but haven't had much luck so far. I think working as a baker again will provide a good balance to keep making creative work here. Only time will tell.
That being said, I'm going into Halloween Hibernation. I'll keep working on the queue as it stands, streaming as time allows, but commissions are closed until October 1. If you have already submitted a commission request, or claimed an adopt, you will be taken care of, but I'm not accepting new requests. I'll be using my "Halloween Hibernation" to take care of my queue so I have space for some fun spooky themes for October.
I'll be able to stream more as I settle into a new schedule and fix my poor computer. I intend to occasionally have commission streams during my Halloween Hibernation, so keep your eyes open for those opportunities. I am most jazzed for TF and fatty sequence streams.

Here is my stream schedule for the next two weeks. I am honestly still working on sticking to it, so you can catch me on Twitter for updates. Sketches are only available during sketch streams unless it's a specific commission event. I'm endeavoring to be open for sketches in stream more often with this adjustment :3
Here is the FULL QUEUE
The last couple of Con Queue commissions are scheduled along with the Standard Queue List. One is a traditional badge, so I can't take care of it in stream. I really wanna stream traditionally more :3 We're up for new phones soon, so maybe I can get one beefy enough to live stream well?

I need to underline that the "negative client interaction" I refer to regards my previous employment in the professional design world. My interactions with clients in the furry fandom is the total opposite. I want to make it very clear that my anxiety is not a reaction to my clients in this fandom. I am dealing with brain gunk from past bad jobs.

Gonna get real personal, but part of getting better is acknowledging where I need work.
I'm sorry I have been a bit of a mess lately keeping up with things. I'm working on mitigating anxiety issues that have been getting in the way of taking care of my work. It's kind of a "deer in the headlights" thing that I'm trying to overcome. I recognize that some of it is me falling back on bad habits I developed to survive at my old graphics jobs. I was so used to negative client interaction that I falsely anticipate the worst for no good reason. In reality, I work for one of kindest, most appreciative communities around PERIOD. Sign shop hell put me thru the ringer more than I care to admit.
Regardless. Im not happy with my standing as a professional at this time. I implore your patience and understanding as I work on this. I'm sorry that my queue is moving along so slow. Time to course correct.
From now on, sketches will only be available during designated sketch streams. There's a few sketch commissions in the pipes that will start off these streams. After that, I'll start to be open more for in stream about twice a week. My more honed commissions will be in "Standard Queue" streams. My plan is that breaking up my work will diminish the "deer in the headlights" issue when I'm facing my workload.
I have been working to enforce a stream schedule with a calendar layout that I've been using. My schedule will be posted bi-monthly. You may view it here

I know it's been a while, but I need to say I had such a nice time when I did Mer-May-Ternity! It was such a great opportunity to draw themes on many new, and repeat characters. Thanks again to everyone who participated <3 I'm going to shoot for some new art events for October / Halloween.
Buuut IN October, I will have family visiting who are helping with our move of stored stuff from Texas to New Hampshire. Which means I gotta reel it in a bit lol. SO I'm thinking of something similar to my Themed Holiday Pinups With a few more options possible slot limitations? That or some special streams 8D I would like to draw more TF stuff and Halloween has plenty of opportunities. Thoughts? Ideas?

TX Transplant to NH - Convention Schedule

I have officially moved from Houston, Texas to Dover, New Hampshire as of about 2 weeks ago!

My husband started working for Sig Sauer! He has always worked his buttcheeks to the bone at whatever odd job he's had the entire 10-ish years I'v known him. From selling jewelry, to lumber yards, to building lockers, to being a prison guard, to eventually machining. Trade school was the easy part with him studying and self teaching most of the way. The last year-ish has been really rough for us. We were both facing uncertainty in our careers while trying to pull off our wedding at the same time. I made the decision to leave my day job in the fall which was awesome an scary at the same time. In December, my sweet kitty, Iris passed away in just shy of her 5th birthday which I took way harder than I was comfortable sharing at the time. I also went through some social upheavals that were really devastating. Things started looking up when Sig contacted my hubbo shortly after our wedding this April. Just when we felt we'd hit the bottom with barely any resources, we finally got the confirmation that he got the job! So here we are in a brand new place!
Everyone has been very happy for us, but it has still been sad to leave our Texas friends and family behind. I had lived in Houston my whole life and him for most of it. A chunk of my heart will always be there <3 That said, I'm loving New England so far!
Since this dramatic move, my convention schedule is pretty up in the air. I am seeking a room for a couple of these. If you have space, shoot me a note or Telegram and we can talk about it :3 I'm down for a max of 5-6 people, I'm fine with drinking and I'm 420 friendly. I am not a good fit if you like to party hard and invite lots of people to the room. Where I room at a con is a business decision for me, so please be understanding if I decline.

I have officially moved from Houston, Texas to Dover, New Hampshire as of about 2 weeks ago!

My husband started working for Sig Sauer! He has always worked his buttcheeks to the bone at whatever odd job he's had the entire 10-ish years I'v known him. From selling jewelry, to lumber yards, to building lockers, to being a prison guard, to eventually machining. Trade school was the easy part with him studying and self teaching most of the way. I'm so PROWWWWD OF HIMMM.

As many of you know, my wedding is Saturday, April 7th! I'm excited and thrilled! Also, I'm grateful for the many congratulations I have already received from many of you!
Because I'll be up to my eyeballs with wedding stuff, starting today, April 2 I'll be away from my work for most of the time until Wednesday April 11th. I think I'll be able to eek in more time to working, but I can't say for sure. On the 11th, I'll be resuming regular working hours
and be back to giving my commissioners and friends all of my energy :D
To my commissioners, I am eager to resume work on your pieces. I hugely appreciate your patience and understanding in this slow work period for me. We're finally near the end! If you have any questions regarding your commission description, payment status, or hold status, please message me directly and I'll do my best to address your needs. With a few rare exceptions, I usually have everything important you send me saved in my queue records.
To my friends going to FWA, I will miss you terribly this year, but don't think I'm not coming back to Georgia next year! I will definitely be there at least scrapping for the alley for 2019. I'll probably fly there though. I want to bring my hubbo, but driving takes up a lot of time away from his job.
To everyone, thank you so much for your awesome support and business. You guys help me to have the best job I've ever had. Improving and perfecting my work is worthwhile with you guys behind me.
I'll post a handful of the photos from the day to share with you guys some of the best moments! I'm tremendously excited to take this step in my life! I needed to address this really quick for everyone out there commissioning me.
I humbly ask your patience in the next month or so. My wedding in a month, so I'm really in the crunch time of sorting out all the details. My commissions are still open, but the turnaround time is a little slower than I want it to be.
My slow response times here on FA are what I'm most unhappy about. I'll get that turned around ASAP. My apologies. If you've commented asking for availability on a YCH or Adopt, I'm working through those claims and holds as per my TOS to make sure everyone get's their claim honored.
If you are waiting on shipping from me, I have a group of envelopes that I've got addressed and ready to go. I just need to get the final steps underway.
This is a relatively minor backlog, but I'm determined to nip it in the bud and get it taken care of professionally.
Overall, The absolute best way to get a hold of me is through Telegram It makes it much easier for me to send you progress shots and keep track of the details of your order. If you're unable to use Telegram, no worries! Like I said, I'm turning this FA response thing around ASAP.

A few upcoming specials I'm looking to spearhead are fully illustrated couple “wing its”. The only examples I have so far are NSFW, but they can be clean. NSFW LINKS: Poolside Undersea Cavern and Afternoon Sunbeam
These would be limited slots of 3-5 at a time with about a 1-2 week wait time. Fully integrated background and lighting with commissioner providing the setting, mood, and desired action taking place. I have not decided on a price for these because I'm not ready to open for them yet. I'll have an info post to my gallery this week.

PERSONAL STUFF
I'm getting ready for a busy weekend. My grandfather who had been suffering from Alzheimer's for several years, passed away this week. Though I'm sad he's no longer here, I am greatly relieved he is finally at peace. If someone you love has Alzheimer's or a similar degenerative illness, I hope you are able to find some positivity in the situation. I understand that it's really difficult. I'm thankful that I was able to see him pretty frequently even when his symptoms were bad. From my experience, I'm hugely fortunate that my family has the means to have kept my grandfather very happy and comfortable at home in his last few years. The difficulties were always overshadowed by his and my family's collective positivity and good humor. I know it's going to tough being around my family being sad, but I think it will be amazing celebrating his life together.

I'm opening for these limited commissions to make up for the time we're not working. We had to evacuate our apartment, so all I have is my laptop & tablet and sketchbook. We made the decision to haul our two cats, my bird and some essentials through the parking lots which were already knee deep and escape to my relative's house with both of our vehicles unharmed.
We were able to go check the conditions, but not actually get to it yet, today. Authorities told us that there's water "all the way to the top of the first floor. Thankfully, we live on the second, so we'll see what's up with our stuff once the water goes down.
I have lived here my whole life, and I've never seen flooding like this. If you've never been to Houston, it's hard to grasp the scope of this devastation. We are a densely populated, sprawling area of almost 2000 square miles with over 6 million people. THOUSANDS of people are in my situation and worse. Roads are closed everywhere and you're lucky to find open grocery stores. Thousands of people don't have power or water still.

Thank you very much to those of you who have helped me out with your commissions. It has helped tremendously to bridge the gap in the days we had to miss work.
We were able to come back to our apartment that Wednesday night after the water had gone down. We live on the second floor, so we sustained no damage. The bottom floor took almost 4 feet of water with currents going through my parking lot strong enough to push and tip cars. The place is trashed and smelly, but it's home. It's pretty sobering how close we came to losing everything like half the people in this complex. We are extremely lucky.
The utter devastation this storm has caused is crushing. I had a few days where I didn't know if I'd lost everything, but was fortunate enough to come home to an unharmed home. Count your blessings, thank your lucky stars, or whatever cuz I sure have coming out of this XD

It feels like everywhere you go, there's houses with mountains of ruined stuff piled on the curb. It's indescribable.
I'm describing these things because I really hope it helps people understand this kind of tragedy a little more than the news stories do. I had a few days where I didn't know if I'd lost everything, but was fortunate enough to come home to an unharmed home. Count your blessings, thank your lucky stars, or whatever cuz I sure have coming out of this XD

I want to explain my inactivity a little bit. I know I have people waiting on work from me. It's highly unusual for commissioners to wait so long for work from me. I'm very sorry for this delay and lack of communication on my part. The lapse in my professionalism is really uncharacteristic of me, and I'm very sorry.

I have made a Trello board for all of my commissions that will be kept to date going forward.
If you are waiting on work from me and do not see it on this board, please message me on Telegram or Twitter preferably. I've gotten really bad about answering my FA notes just cuz I don't get phone notifications for them. Commissions are CLOSED until further notice. Thanks!

Personal rambling about my day job and mental health ahead!
As far as my absence, my day job has been under extremely adverse conditions. There's 2 reasons: being understaffed and a string of rotten clients. I'm a graphic designer for a small business that makes vehicle wraps. When things are normal, it's awesome!
When I say small, I'm talking 5 people. My boss, a coordinator-receptionist, me, and two wrap installers. My boss mostly works remotely, designing and meeting with clients, so myself and the coordinator-receptionist run the storefront most days. Its weekdays, 9-5 at a nice desk, I largely get to set my workflow, and the boss is pretty lenient about taking time off for cons. On the “normal” days, I come to work and sit at my desk and design stuff with my headphones on. Talk to a few clients in person, maybe, but mostly phone and e-mail. I usually have plenty of juice left when I get home to draw. It's great when it's normal! It has not been normal D8
The coordinator-receptionist was unhappy and trying to find a new job, performing terribly till he finally left. He was so disorganized that we ended up with a bunch of clients getting neglected. Add that to me running the front most days for almost 2 months with no time to design and you get a lot of fires to put out. I finally have a new coordinator-receptionist, but it's taking a while with my boss's schedule to get her trained up to speed. I have finally been able to sit at my desk a couple days for the first time in months!
When I say “rotten clients” I mean about a fourth of my wraps I design have come back on the first draft completely rejected. Ranging from “This is not what I wanted at all. I don't know what I want LOL!” to “We hate this. You didn't put any effort in it. Give us our money back”. Designs that get my strict boss's hard earned stamp of approval. It has made the entire creative process both there and in my freelance work extremely anxiety inducing.
When I work there, and then try to draw, I have been extremely anxious. I'm worried, and freaked out about making work that's gonna be accepted by my clients and that they might be angry at the slow completion. Don't get me wrong, Furry client are WAY EASIER to work for than at my day job. If you see me at cons, I'm always stoked to work. I really want this work to eventually be my full time paycheck, it's just a tough road getting there. It's just with the bad bunch at my day job, my anxiety there has been bleeding into my furry work. I'm ready to resume normal operations. Please accept my most sincere apologies for dropping the ball lately.

Papaya Updates and Specials
General | Posted 10 years agoI've been facing some personal adversities since my con season wound to a close this May. However, I'm still pretty happy that amidst all of that, I have time to keep creating art 8D
I was also in Alaska for 12 days last month. I live in Houston, Texas, so Alaska was practically another planet. I had a blast and used my mermaid powers to catch a HUGE Kenai King Salmon. I had a great time with family members and really got to experience SO much in that amazing state. It even made a TEXAN humble about where they came from XD
You can see a few pics of my adventures on my Instagram at Kalo_Mermaid. I post lots of WIP's, sketches and other doodles there that don't always make it to my main accounts. It is about 80% art at this point. Sometimes there's selfies and the food I like to cook 8D

I'm planning to go to MFF, so if you visit that con, I'll be there 8D It will be the biggest fur con I've ever been a part of, and I am stoked to say the least!

Con Season Break
General | Posted 11 years agoI knocked out 3 of my cons with one more to go. Tff in February. Then Aggiecon and Furry Weekend Atlanta which were pretty much back to back D8 They were only separated by a week.
Nonethless, I have till the end of May for recon till Comicpalooza hits here in Houston.
I've got a couple big projects I'm working on as well as making some new prints for Comicpalooza. It's the biggest con I do all year. After that, I'll be done for a while.
I'm thinking about doing MFF, but not sure yet. Plane tickets and all that. I'm definitely gonna try for the den next year for FWA though.
Sorry this is really disjointed O.o
I'm feeling really grateful for my friends I have the privelidge of traveling and making art with. Those of you I get to table with, hang out with etc. I am bad at feels ; 3 ; I just feel like I'm in a better place with friends than I've been in a while. I'd had a couple instances where I was squeezed out/left/falling out depending on who you ask. Even though I'm done dwelling n past experiences, it's definitely made me more appreciative of my relationships with people while I have them.
Thank you to everyone who came to see me at TFF, Aggiecon, and FWA. It was also a pleasure meeting those of you in meat space whom I've only known online. I can't say how much it means to me when you support my art from complments to commissions. Thank you so much.

-Unsolicited PM's, notes, or comments for requests will be ignored.
Commissions:
-I reserve the right to refuse any service
-Commissioners will receive sketches and progress updates on their piece.
-Commissioners are entitled to edits at specific stages of the work.
-Please see Commission Process for detailed information on edits.
-No refunds will be issued after completion of the work except in the case of irrevocable artist error.
-In the case of my error, please just tell me and I will do what I can to fix it.
Distribution:
-As the artist, I reserve the right to post, display or re-print the commission as I see fit.
-However, I will relinquish these rights upon the commissioners request. Just ask!
-All commissioners may post or redistribute the piece as they see fit.
-Customers are not permitted to profit monetarily from the work in any way unless explicitly addressed. However, all online postings must include a link back to one of my sites.
Adoptables:
-Adoptables are sold on a first come first serve basis.
-An adopt may be held for a user with the intention to pay for a maximum of 3 days.
-Failure to submit payment during this time frame will result in the adopt being reopened for another customer.
-I will make adjustments to the coloring of an adopt after purchase.
-I will not change the lineart unless in the case of error on my part: ex: Gender was misrepresented or incorrect species portrayed.
-Adoptables may be resold or traded.
