Trying Something New - Read if you like Risorahn Art
General | Posted 2 months agoFirst of all, if you are someone who likes my character Risorahn and would like opportunities to get art with me, please read on!
To any Watchers of my page who actually read Journals on FA, Hiya!
The Exposition of Why I am Writing the Journal:
Last year, I started getting a bunch of commissions again. An unhealthy amount of commissions to make up for the last 3 years of not really doing anything in the fandom.
I recently moved to Japan, and with the change I have felt really stressed and abandoned. Pretty much every single social structure I relied on for stability was completely taken away. A few months ago, my wife was in the hospital here for around 3 months in total and that was a huge amount of stress on me. I started reaching out to old friends and started getting a bit back into my corner of the community. I am still busy as hell now that I have a new tiny member to my family. But through it all, the stress and dissonance was putting me in a really bad place. I don't remember quite what started it, probably a YCH I really wanted, but I started getting as many commissions as I could possibly fetch, and for some reason, a ton of artists I had always wanted to get work from finally opened all at the same time.
I did not want to know how much money I had spent, and I really wanted it to go completely under the radar, but my wife, being the thorough auditor and budget queen saw it. We had to have a very serious conversation about it, but she understood why I did it and she felt bad she could not have been there to help me more so I didn't need to have that as an outlet for my stress. But now, I realize that it has been pretty helpful and I have really enjoyed getting to know more people. So I wanted some way to shout out to as many people as I knew how to let them know that I would like to get commissions with more people, SFW and NSFW. Now, the Content of What I Want to Discuss:
I actually realized how much I really love getting art and setting up projects with people and having something I can be looking forward to, and receiving updates on from time to time. Thanks to the conversation I now have a generous amount of monthly budget I can use for anything for myself. Including getting Commissions!!! YAY!!! So I wanted to have a primer to all of you, if you are at all interested in getting a commission done with my character Risorahn I would love to talk with you about the ideas I have on my wishlist and you can tell me all the things on your wishlist and we can try to overlap as much as we can XD
Part of what was so stress relieving and fun for me was just having more friends I could open up and talk to. I might have more or less energy from day to day or even week to week, but I just want to know who out there likes Riso and wants to talk with and get to know him ^^
The Plan:
I am going to start making a monthly journal to open up for commissions with Riso.
These are not art commissions that I would be drawing, that would be insane! I have not drawn in years and don't have the tools or confidence to do that right now XD
This is where I can get a list of people who are interested so when I am talking with an artist and they say, so who will be the other character? I have a list of people I could think of to reach out to and ask.
I plan on just manually picking who I think is the best fit for the piece. But I will try to spread out who I pick so it is not like the same five people every time XD If there are more than five people interested that is.
The Rules:
- This is a trial project, so I will be playing this by ear.
- My budget is ~$150 USD a month, I have some wiggle room depending on the artist and commission idea.
- I expect the commission to be split evenly among all members.
- I will likely post some requirements for the commission idea to work
+ Please do not try to fit a square peg in when I ask for a circle, thank you. XD
- I will pause or skip for a month if:
+ I already have a commission planned that month.
+ I have something else I plan on doing with my funds.
+ For any reason I need a break or I get stressed out.
- My general Yes/No themes are here on my F-List << Link here
- Please respect that I am a new parent and have a partner.
+ I may leave you on read for a period of time, I do not hate you, I am probably just busy ^^; I will respond when I have the bandwidth.
+ We are likely not in the same time zone so I might respond at a weird hour and I do not expect you to even look at the message unless you are up for a chat, and same the other way around.
+ I am not looking for any romantic relationships. Period. Hard stop. I do separate between sexy and horny conversions about Risorahn and myself.
- You can have a giant crush on, or sexualize, Riso if you want, and I will love that.
+ Please do not try to have a crush on me and expect the one behind Riso to reciprocate. Thank you.
+ I will block you if after I warn you that the conversation is uncomfortable, and you continue to push.
- I want to explore new artists but I have a certain taste in artists and I have a list of ones I like to work with or wish to work with.
+ If you or I do not like the artists who are currently available for commission, then we can postpone until we find one ^^
- If for some reason you wanted to gift me art
+ First of all that is extremely sweet of you ~<3
+ Second please let me know at least a little bit so I know it will be something I can appreciate and look forward to ^^

I am not really an artist, I commission artists. I have studied how to draw and really like being the one to communicate with artists unless you already have a good relationship with the artist ^^

My brother just released a 21 song album and I am trying to share it around since he worked on this for years and I wanted to share his talent with as many people as I know. There is a mix of heavy and upbeat with slow and melodic. I hope you will give it a listen.
