Okay, so Castlevania: LoS2 has you as a weakened Drac regaining his powers from his castle, likely the state he was in, in the Epilogue of LoS1. The Epilogue was set in modern times, and you fight Satan again, but you apparently have a Belmont hunting you down, as well. You have Zobek/Death on your side this time around, and I have the feeling that the Belmont will be Julius. Gonna say that you'll fill in story gaps via flashbacks as you regain powers and trinkets.

It's in a castle, there's gonna be a war against Satan's minions and the Brotherhood of Light, and it's possibly 1999... so it's the Castle War of 1999! Though Lords takes place in an alternate (not a reboot, but alternate) universe lol

I also feel that Alucard/Trevor might assist Julius like he must have in the original timeline, and that the twist is that Julius and Alucard end up killing Gabriel/Drac, putting him to rest after you put Satan under the second time. I hope that there's an epic team-up of Gabriel, Alucard and Julius against Satan, but not sure if it'll work out that way.

LoS2 is the conclusion to the Lords Trilogy (Mirror of Fate for the 3DS is the bridge between LoS1 and 2), so they do have to put Gabriel to rest. I have mixed feelings about it, first time I've actually felt sorry for Dracula in the CastleVania franchise, no matter how they tried to portray him as misguided in the original franchise. I honestly feel that Mercury Steam is doing an awesome job with their take on the CastleVania mythos, and definitely seeing it to the end.

He seems to be what happens to Trevor Belmont after a failed attempt to destroy Gabriel/Drac. In the MoF trailer, he's voiced by the same actor that does Trevor's voice, and initially, he apparently comes across Simon (his son in this continuity) with white hair and holding his Combat Cross, which looks a lot like the hilt of the sword int he poster.

Okay, so I want to do a quick animation test tonight, where I string some "traditionally" animated (drawn frame by frame) into Flash and string them together by buttons. Honestly dunno how to go about it, the last time I tried, it felt like I was using duct-tape, and probably wasn't the best method lol

So, anybody know what video or file format to save the events in? (several short clips of Looped actions and Transitions to the next Loop) (avi, mov, gif, etc) Thinkin on using .avi like I did for the older ones, but not sure if it's the thing to do, or import frame by frame and save in Flash somehow... or something, I'm dense with this lol

So, in a nutshell, the idea is to have looped animations happen, while linking them with transitional animations, and a climax. You've seen these before on  iomar's page and the like haha

David Cox, one of the minds behind the alternate take on the CastleVania Series, explains his crew's intentions when creating the Lords of Shadow series, in comparison to the elements in the original CV timeline.

I honestly agree with him where, while I did like everything after SotN, I felt that they jumped the shark when damn-near anybody could confront Dracula's forces and the Belmonts/100 year cycle established in the earlier CastleVanias were made rather defunct.

I also really like the tragic feel behind this saga, and the ambiguity of what is "good" and "evil" after the wrap-up of the first game, and how the sequels are presented; it's a take on Dracula, it needs to be tragic! I also can relate to Gabriel to a degree, so, on top of being a CV fan since day one, I'm glad that they brought back a strong emphasis on the original concept, rather than making the original timeline even more saturated, and imo, convoluted (though I wouldn't mind a "Castle War 1999"/Julius Belmont game to fill in what went down).

Can't wait for both LoS2 and MoF, alongside The Last Of Us. What're you guys excited for, if you play of the vidyagame?

Okay, so, there's a bit to cover, but I want to make things simple so that there's clarity on things as far as commissions, why things're slow, why I haven't offered many new ones over the last year or so, and how they'll work in the future.

First off, on being a freelance artist: This shit... is hard.

Personal shit gets in the way all of the time, and because of it, I've failed miserably at meeting deadlines. This said, it's not right for somebody to take on work and not be done with it is an allotted time. It is that, no matter how you slice it:

Work.

And I've become one of "Those Furry Artists" because of my excessive tardiness. I'm sorry for being That Guy, and I have awesome Commissioners that are ever-so-patient as I get my personal shit together. Thank you very much for that!

On the flipside, I've taken it upon myself to "up" what was originally paid for. What was originally a batch of "Iron Artist/IA" speedpaints and "Iron Artist Comic/IAC" colored sketch mini-comics with up to about three pages each became more advanced paints with either extra content or detail thrown in, or comics that consist of many more pages than originally planned, or more detail if kept a shorter comic.

Now, I know things come off oddly via text, so gotta stress that I'm not personally bitching about it, I'm offering because they did wait as long as they did, and to show that I'm grateful for them choosing to transact with me in the first place.

But yeah, because of me upping that ante, I have to take more time and think things out in more detail for the pics and comics. And hey, I'm almost done with the queue, so I feel safe with making a clear list of my current workload:

Hokay, so that listed, not so bad, right? lol Not being sarcastic, it's honestly not as bad as it once was, and outside of the comics, should be killed off by the end of the month, if not even with the comics. I just have to be consistent.

Which is where things come in. I'm probably gonna stream a lot of the owed work throughout the month. But, I will start streaming new Commissions; Note: Until I'm done with the Paints, I probably won't offer anything beyond quicker streamed work, like a speedpaint or sketch. And comics I might open for after I finish the current list, if people will like my style of doing them.

Now, Trades and the way that I do Gifts:

I'm fine with trades, but for now, because of my current workload, I tend to get sidetracked. So I prefer to keep it simple and either initiate/ask for the Trade myself, or accept specific artists, due to what they produce. This doesn't particularly mean skill level, but content and style do factor in. I tend to do some trades for bartering pics of personal friends; I'm not against gift art and the occasional Trade for art of my character[s], but I'm actually not too ecstatic about the concept in general, so I tend to get pics of friends done instead of my Fuzzy self for the other artist's side of the Trade.

For now, I want to keep Trades simple and I'll initiate Trades when I'm able to. But when I'm ready, I'll post a Journal on it, and it's as simple as sending a note when I post that Journal, asking for a trade. It's not a guarantee that I'll say yes, but I'm definitely not a snob about it; Trades tend to be fun, and fun is great when it comes to creating art lol

Me doing gift art: I, of course, tend to draw what I fancy, and usually it's a friend, or a character that I find hot or cool or at least luke-warm (hurrrrr). But, on occasion, I tend to be random with it. Somebody notes me about free art, and I'll say yes, if it's simple enough, or has a noble enough cause for it. Or I'll decline, if I simply can't. I don't want to blow myself out, and I do want to make money off of commissions, so I want to keep it simple. In the future, I will randomly do Streams where I do some free stuff every so oft, it might be a bit more controlled and satisfying on both ends. Just keep an eye out for Journals with "Free Stream" in the title.
